This is a great phone for a first time owner. I bought this for my son but was hesistant because there was no obvious parental controls. After googling the Operating Sytem, I figured out the KAIOS had parental controls. I was able to lock the browser and youtube app. The plan i purchased had unlimited talk and text but also 12 gigs of internet. The screen and buttons are big. The only draw back is the Texting is a bit wonky. For 20 bucks, what else can you ask for? The setup was easy also.

Brought to use as an emergency backup phone. Works great! Highly recommended.

Bought this for my dad he says it cuts off on him mid call sometimes but other than that it’s really just the type of service you buy to go with your phone

Was hoping this would be a simple cell phone for a person in early dementia. It's not that simple even for me who is used to a smart phone. On top of the complexity, it barely holds a charge for 24 hours without any use. I'm debating about returning it to Amazon but it's already been activated.

I ordered this Tracfone to replace a lost one recently. It arrived quickly, and was well packaged, but judging from the appearance of the phone's factory box it had no doubt been opened at some point. The strip of tape that holds the flap on the box end was cut, and there was some damage to the box. After close inspection, however, nothing had been taken out of its cellophane factory wrapping and all the papers and booklets were there. Not a deal breaker, but still a bit concerning since the item description said "Brand New". After a call to Tracfone, the service rep was very helpful in transferring my minutes and service from the lost phone to this one. This phone is somewhat larger than my old LG flip, but that's actually a good thing for my aged eyes. It seems to work just fine, and I have an equal or better signal here with it as the old phone had. After a few moments of working with the menus and buttons I am comfortable that this phone will do just fine For the $$ I don't think I could have done better, and am quite pleased overall in this transaction. It does appear, however, that this item was returned or previously purchased and should have been discounted just a bit for that fact.

A person in there 90s who just wants a simple phone and no tech, smartphone, data searches really loves this phone. A simple phone with pretty good quality used to just talk.

I got so ticked off with my last smartphone. I threw the hunk of crap against a brick wall and into the trash can. Probably the 9th smart phone I trashed in the last 3 years I cannot stand complicated products or smartphones that are a pain in the rear to operate. I got a reliable, pocket-friendly phone now. If you can't call and talk and want to annoy me with texting and dumb videos. Go text or call someone else for all I care If dumb flip phones get discontinued in the future, I will simply use a landline, VoIP, or send Indian smoke signals and Morse code. Or write letters. Or not bother with anything if my landline ever goes away. I don't care. I have had it with smartphones.And aggravating news feeds, annoying texts and spam, or political nonsense.

I bought this with the sim cards. Purchasers should be aware that the instructions for the sim cards are very poor and that the build quality of the phone’s sim card placement areas is weak.
