Absolute beast of a camera
There is a reason why this is Lumixs' best selling camera. It is so good. I hesitated buying this camera for a little over a year because of all the complaints that you hear from people who have never once shot with it; no viewfinder. no mechanical shutter etc.... Use this camera, focus on capturing your image and you really won't even miss those things. I have the S5ii, S1RII, S1II, and I use this more than all of those. Image quality is on par with all other Lumix cameras. Also, if you are a casual shooter or just looking at getting into photo/video then I would also choose this over any Sony camera, and I own a ton of Sony's. The fact is, straight out of camera these images are going to look way better. Images will be sharper and colors will be more vibrant without a doubt.

takes really nice photos. Camera does not have a flash and you cannot put a flash on it either!
I come from occasionally using an old nikon dslr, and frequently using canon g5x and g16. I have used this lumix camera for three days. So far, i cannot imagine using it without the extra grip piece that i bought. this would almost be unusable for me without that to hold onto. The other thing that is baffling is THERE IS NO WAY TO USE A FLASH WITH THIS CAMERA. be forewarned, it only looks like a hot shoe, but i have now learned that there is such a thing as a cold shoe and this camera has a cold shoe - no electrical connection there. My first photoshoot was in a dim basement, not a great time to discover the shoe was only decorative. (you can attach a battery powered light or microphone there, but no flash). i like the look of the camera. it is a little larger than i imagined, but the lens it came with shrinks up pretty nicely when the camera is off. battery got pretty good life. i tried out the digital zoom on it, but i eneded up turning it off because it isn't clear when the digital zoom was actually doing the digital zoom (maybe it is just always digital zooming?) anyway, for 3 days, i'll keep it - the photos i got were pretty good even with no flash and just holding up a flashlight. i am just baffled how such a spendy camera doesn't have flash capability.

Great travel camera
Great travel camera. Ibis is outstanding lots feature is awesome works well with the phone app. MP4 lite files let me edit video on my phone. Auto focus for video which is what I mainly use it for is great. Price is fair especially now with the discounts.

Mediocre
Connection issues with the app, picture quality is good but very bad at night. You can add a light on top but it takes away from the whole portability aspect.

A very nice camera
As a beginner I am overwhelmed by the number of settings in this camera. I have been able to snag some really nice pictures with some luck but I have a lot to learn to consistantly get the results I'm looking for. some considerations, first as many have said the camera is difficult to handle with 1 hand so I would recommend an aftermarket grip be added. the lenses are very expenses so it's best to do research to know if the bundle is actual of value to you. Youtube has been very helpful in learning what settings are best in certain scenarios. if you are looking for a quality point a shoot there are other options that will suite you better. If you want a camera that you can learn and grow into, this is a good option.

Autofocus is tough
Autofocus is tough on this model. Not ideal for portraits. 1/10 times it delivers but other than that its just blurry shots destroying moments.

Point and Shoot Masterpiece for Anyone!
For me, (I’m aware of the passionate discussion surrounding this product) the S9 is perfect for my use case. That being a very scenic western US excursion where I felt I needed more than my phone for memories. Small enough to jump out of a motorcycle saddlebag and to quickly get locked back up without delaying the group. I know that IPhones in the hands of the talented people can take amazing pictures - that’s not me. This thing spits out professional images in my idiot hands while being used as a point and shoot. Maybe someday I’ll grow into its professional capabilities, but for now, the professionals at LUMIX have solved my problem - and then some!
