It works, which is a good start!!
I was a bit concerned that this would not work after reading a review on this site, but it is working fine. I have installed it on my Toyota Hilux and thankfully it does work on a metal bumper as advertised. It took me about 6-7 hours to install it, as I have never done it before. Locating the reverse wire took a little while, and working out where I wanted to site the cpu and display took quite a while to research. The wire that connects to the power i.e. the vehicle reversing light wire, is relatively short, so I put the cpu in the cab behind the front passenger pillar trim and used a 'choc bloc' to connect to the reverse wire underneath the carpet, beneath the front passenger seat, where it enters the cab. I also ended up taking part of the dashboard off to hide the wire which connects to the display, but that was surprisingly easy. I bought the kit with 8 metre wires and that was ample for my pick up. I have dropped a star as the drill bit (22mm) provided, makes the hole in a metal bumper slightly too big, so the sensor didn't click in. I think the drill bit should be 21mm. It could have been my shaky drilling, but I would have preferred to start the hole smaller, as I could have filed some metal out if necessary. To fix it, I put electrical tape round the body of the sensor, so it fitted snug in the hole, so not a big problem. Note: The instructions state to not use glue, as it may effect performance. I did upgrade the attachment of the display to the dashboard, by using some heavy duty Velcro, only because I already had some, so not sure if the provided sticky pad is any good. The display is a bit naff, (as well as the good stuff e.g. it beeps and shows distance in metres, it has a picture of a car that lights up and displays which sensor is detecting the obstruction, which seems a bit pointless in my opinion), but it works and is giving an accurate reading for all sensors, so overall very pleased.
