V7 X Dynamic Instrument Microphone for Live Performances & Instrument Recording in The Studio - Dynamic Microphone with Supercardioid Aluminum Voice Coil for Huge Gain Before Feedback

Bought this because based on the frequency response graph, it seemed like this would be the perfect fit for my baritone voice. Just spent a few hours testing it today and it turns out I was right. Unlike a lot of vocal microphones, this microphone doesn't try to compensate for the proximity effect, meaning you're free to play with that as a variable, and I always like when microphones give you options. If your voice is too boomy, just move a bit further away. If you want some of that emphasized low-end for the "radio voice" effect (or just to help the low end of your voice), just put your mouth within a few inches of the mic. Noise-wise, I'm finding this mic to be identical to a Shure Beta 58A. Meaning it doesn't pick up more background noise than it should, but you also don't have to be extremely close to it to get good levels. Off-axis rejection is also great, so it should be able to do high gain before feedback. The more I test it, it might actually be even less sensitive to background noise than the 58A. On the high-end and mids, this mic is both clear and crisp, without being overly sibilant or in any way muffled. I did notice that when I speak into this mic at a 90-degree angle in front of it (as in, perpendicular to the end but far enough in front of it that the air from my plosives don't hit the mic - I do this sometimes for streaming) it's actually even *more* crisp and clear than the 58A is in this position. I specified "male voices" in the headline but really, this mic is so warm and crisp I think anyone would sound good on it, regardless of gender. It's just overall a really solid dynamic microphone. Overall, very impressed.

SE’s V7 is a killer sounding updated dynamic with a nice presence bump in the vocal upper mids. We’ve added several and our clients are very happy with the sound. The hypercardioid pattern helps with feedback rejection.

Did not expect such an exceptional Microphone at a great price.

As a professional musician/vocalist, I give this microphone a 0 out of 10. I took a chance on it after watching many YouTube review videos. It seems the only channels reviewing this microphone are owned the manufacturer. I have to crank the highs on the mixer to get any sense of clarity. Also it pops the speaker, in a crunchy way, any time I dig in to it. I will be returning this one and going back to my tried and true Sennheiser

Seems I have developed a short somewhere (speculation) in the mix and it’s dead now. I’m sure I can fix it and it’s an otherwise great mic but it has been babied and still here I am with a dead mic already.

This mic is absolutely awesome. It is a well crafted, great looking and fantastic sounding microphone. Pro: Pick-up pattern is a real supercardioid, not just a tight cardioid like many other supposedly supercardioids. Side noise rejection is absolutely exemplary. Tone is well defined, rich and has no mud, grain or sibilance on either male or female voices I've tested it on. Sensibility is good, and getting good volume out of it does not require a CL or FH or any type of secondary pre. Excellent fit and finish. Con: The zipper pouch is rather lame; Nothing to write home about. Final thoughts: This is a fantastic deal. Go for it. I'm planning on acquiring a half-dozen of these for a choir recording gig, to be used in conjunction with a pair of overhead condensers. I'm confident they will get me better results than my current set of supercardioid handhelds, which are from a "reputable brand known for quality and durability"... Those of you that have any kind of stage experience will know the brand I'm referring to here... 'Nuff said.

I decided to go for these for my drum kit instead of the Vbeat which were twice the price. Turns out these are voiced exactly the same. I still found the se v7x quite compact and easy to place on toms and snare. The sound with the overheads and room mics is unreal. Love these mics. Best bang for buck I think.

Amazing sounding mic. Definitely better than most budget condensers. A lovely, full low end and beautiful, shimmering highs! Very silent too. I've had the Behringer c1 and Samson CO2 and this is incomparably better than those. Used it mainly for acoustic guitar. Came in perfect condition, fair enough price. If you are looking for a budget condenser mic within 15 k, I would suggest this, rather than those. This does however need some level of acoustic treatment. I experienced some phase cancellation due to sound bouncing off the tiled floor and ceiling. Using a carpet for the floor and something for the ceiling will make this sound full as it should. Otherwise it might sound a little thin. Also a preamp with a decent amount of gain is recommended as the output while not too low is a bit on the lower side, being a dynamic mic.
