I’ve wanted a thermal camera for ages, and owning this one doesn’t disappoint! It’s so fun to go around your home to find where you could use some insulation, and it could even find things like water leaks for you in the right circumstances. I’ve already spotted a problem area in my attic, as shown in my image. This is my first thermal camera, so I wouldn’t know what to expect in comparison to other models or bigger brand names. Having said that, this one seems great. The refresh rate and IR resolution are killer for the price range, most models I can find from big names are a fraction of the specs of this model. I haven’t exercised all the functions but so far everything is working great. Some things to know that I wasn’t aware of before getting this: 1. It’s pretty large; as far as I know this is totally normal for a thermal camera with these specs, but it surprised me. 2. As other reviewers have mentioned, it takes a bit of time, maybe 10-20 seconds, to turn off and on. More like a computer or cell phone, time-wise, than a simple electronic like a single-reading laser thermometer. 3. The thing I wish the most this thing had is the ability to set a manual temperature range. If something much hotter or colder than what you’re looking at is in your image, subtle differences are harder to see. For example, when I point this at my wall with my smart thermostat, the thermostat is so much warmer than the wall that the temperature fluctuations of the wall itself are harder to see. This camera will automatically set the temperature range based on what is currently in the image, I can’t manually set it to tighten that range so that 15° really stands out next something 17° even if there’s something 30° right next to both of those things. It won’t prevent you from getting the info you need, it would just be really handy. I thought this was a standard thermal camera feature and was ready to fault this model for not having it, but after looking into it, it’s not something that’s guaranteed amongst other cameras I looked at and this model isn’t advertised as having the feature. Something that’s good to know about in advance. Overall I’m happy and will update my review if I notice anything else as I keep using it.

Die wenigsten Heimwerker werden eine Wärmebildkamera besitzen oder regelmäßig benötigen. Jedoch gibt es für energiebewusste Eigenheimbesitzer viele Anwendungsmöglichkeiten zur Nutzung einer solchen Kamera. Sei es zur Überprüfung der Wärmeübertragung von Fenstern, Undichtigkeit einer Türdichtung oder der Dachisolierung. Auch das Aufdecken unnötiger Verbraucher oder eines Hitzestaus ist möglich. Mit der HT-18 + können alle Überprüfungen sehr professionell vorgenommen werden. Die Kamera lässt sich auf Deutsch einstellen und somit ist eine Bedienung nahezu kinderleicht. Die Wärmebildkamera bietet sogar die Möglichkeit, das reale Bild und das Wärmebild miteinander verschmelzen zu lassen. Dies kann nicht jede Wärmebildkamera und erst recht nicht in dieser Preisklasse. Zusammengefasst überzeugt die HT-18+ mit tollen Möglichkeiten für den privaten Heimwerker.

Excellente qualité apparente de l'imageur thermique HT-18+ pour un prix modique comparé aux appareils similaires sur le marché. L'ergonomie est bonne, la finition de l'appareil est impeccable. La sensibilité thermique NETD est spécifiée à moins de 40 mK sur la page Amazon de l'appareil et à moins de 50 mK sur sa notice. Quel est le bon chiffre : 40 ou 50 ? En tout cas, les images m'apparaissent suffisamment nettes pour l'usage que j'ai fait du HT-18+ depuis que je l'ai en main. Tout fonctionne bien, conformément aux spécifications, notamment la liaison USB-C USB-A entre l'appareil et mon ordinateur macOS. Par contre, il n'y a pas de logiciel d'analyse pour macOS alors qu'il y en a un pour windows. J'ai dû compenser ce manque en développant mon propre logiciel d'analyse à partir des images jpeg fournies par le HT-18+. Mais ça demande du temps de développement et c'est approximatif à cause du recalcul des températures ! Je veux bien comprendre qu'en raison peut-être du prix de vente modéré, le fabriquant n'ait pas pu fournir un logiciel d'analyse pour tous les OS. Cependant, à défaut de ce logiciel, le fabricant aurait dû rendre disponible pour tous les utilisateurs les informations nécessaires à l'analyse. Par exemple : en même temps qu'une image thermique jpeg, enregistrer sur la mémoire flash un fichier contenant le tableau des températures pour chacun de ses pixels. Cela ne demanderait que très peu d'effort de développement de la part du fabricant que d'enregistrer de tels fichiers de températures pour une taille approximative de 100kB chacun. Concernant l'interface utilisateur de l'appareil, les menus ne sont pas très intuitifs ce qui oblige à consulter la notice avant de pouvoir utiliser les fonctionnalités de base. Ainsi, quel est l'intérêt d'avoir une touche "ENTER" et une touche "SELECT" qui semblent avoir à peu près la même fonction ? Comment expliquer que pour répondre "YES" à une question, il faille appuyer sur la touche "MENU", et pour répondre "NO", il faille appuyer sur la touche "SELECT" ? Ah si, j'ai trouvé la raison : il faut appuyer sur la touche qui est sur la même verticale que le "YES" ou le "NO" affichés sur l'écran 🙂 Il ne me reste plus qu'à espérer que cet appareil puisse durer pendant plusieurs années.
