Great bit of kit, found the oil leak on the car in a matter of minutes.

Very good smoke production and comes with various adaptors etc also nice that it includes a bottle of oil to fill unlike many other smoke machines sold

Everything needed is supplied so you can start using it straight away. I have been chasing an elusive oil burning smell on a VW Transporter T5 2.5 Tdi for some time with no success. I connected the Orion Motor Tech smoke tester to the inlet air pipe using the pump up bladder fitting and turned on the machine. Within 30 seconds a wisp of smoke could be seen escaping from a cover on the timing case (mystery leak and smell found). I wish that I had purchased a smoke tester much earlier and am very pleased that I finally have this excellent one.

This machine definitely will find its use for professional garage where they may use it on every day basis, for DIY person, this is overkill. This machine has been designed to work with special smoke fluid only and to help detect any potential leak in your machine. This machine is versatile and can be used to detect leak in manifold, exhaust, EVAP etc. All you have to do is choose right adapter, feed plug to desired system, turn on smoke and look for smoke coming out anywhere In system as well look at gauge on machine itself since it can show you if there is leak if loosing pressure. Machine looks and works very well, definitely for professional use, luckily my friend is mechanic and its own garage so we been able to test it properly and it works great. I needed to purchase separately smoke fluid but not big deal.

Finally got round to testing this properly following a turbo fault - it allowed me to spot two failing clamps even after I went round and tightened them all up. As a portable smoker, especially with all the included accessories, this is excellent value. I have previously used a smoker from a very popular tool leasing company, and I would confidently say that this is comparable. Time will tell how this holds up being used and abused - but for me it will likely only be used once every couple of years at most.
