This asparagus knife's unique design allows you to either saw through the stem under the soil surface using the serrated edge or slice through the spear under the soil using the sharpened end. The asparagus knife is forged from carbon steel for both durability and sharp edge retention and then fitted with a sustainable hardwood handle from managed forests. Asparagus Knife dimensions: Length: 12 inches Approx. Weight: 5 oz. Review: Great knife for the garden! - PHENOMENAL knife foe the asparagus grower. The serration on the inside of the curve is quite tough (be careful of skin and wash cloths). I found that the blade at the tip to not be sharpened, and so took a file to it to get it up to snuff. Now it cuts with a push or a pull just fine. I look forward to using this knife for many years. Review: Not sharp enough to cut Asparagus - Unfortunately this Knife looks better than it performs. In other words, its not sharp. I will have to try to sharpen it, but that's not as easy as it sounds and I'm pretty well equipped to do things like that. The cutting edge appears to be convex instead of flat or concave and it is only struck from one side so you have to sharpen it like a scissors. It also appears to be made of poor quality steel and not tempered. It rusts significantly and fast. Not a good investment for the price.

BUY it! You'll LOVE this knife!
Don't you just love it when things work as they should? Like this asparagus knife for example? This knife is sooo sharp and sooo strudy that it's doubtful it will EVER wear out! ;) An otherwise troublesome chore is now a breeze for me.

Great High Quality Knife!
We have used this asparagus knife for over 5+ years now in our asparagus bed in our backyard. This is a nice, high quality knife that is worth the investment, after all the time & work required to plant & grow asparagus. This knife is plenty sharp enough with the high-carbon steel, to cut our fresh, organic, tender asparagus. If you want something sharper find a razor blade. Nice wooden handle; is easy to grip and is attached well, no problems with detaching.
