A Child Through Time: The Book of Children's History (DK Panorama) Review: Really Fun & Interesting - Bought this as supplemental material for homeschool (3rd/4th grade) and we love it. It has a lot of information and cool facts. The fact that it uses children from each time period really captures my kid's attention and helps him stay focused. It's sturdy and well made. I have several of their other books on my wishlist based on the quality of this book. Very happy with this purchase. Review: Fun Historical Fiction/Non-Fiction - My 7 year old son loves this book, it's one of his bed time go to books. I don't think he's reading top to bottom, each page, but he's still absorbing enough information to tell me little factoids. There's lots of pictures with captions and related information, so they can browse and read what catches their eye. I think reading a child's perspective is more interesting for a child, it makes it easier to relate to and more fun to imagine themselves in these places and times.

Every young child should have this book
This book gives the young child an idea of what life was like in other places and other times. It broadens the child's understanding of the world and of people all over the world. It should be required reading for students grades 2-5

Beautiful and well organized book
This is a beautiful book with a handy glossary and index for searching for particular topics. It is broken into 5 sections: Early civilizations, classical age, medieval period, early modern period, modern period. The book has a pigeon hidden in each scene and a star for when the "child" of each page is actually a real person who lived/lives. A great reference book for young historians.

Great history companion book
Great companion to history spine for elementary history curriculum. My kids read through it on their own often, and it helped them develop a sense of the progression of time, and the changes in human culture as well as the similarities.

What was life like for a child in the past?
My favorite part was "meeting" individual children, learning their names and what their lives were like. A little light on diversity, but hopefully they can add more children of color and currently under-represented continents. As a Dr. Who fan, I guess I want to learn about CTTAS (Children Through Time And Space).

Wonderful book
This book is very well written and the pictures are amazing. Great for homeschool. My 9 and 10 year old learned so much from it. It is their go to book. I read some of the negative reviews and I will say if you have a child younger than 8 maybe not the book for you. Also prepare to talk about difficult subjects. Slavery, war , reformation of the church etc. may be hard discussions but they ARE apart of history and children should understand the hardships of the past that give them the privileges of today.

I bought this for my 5/6 year old and we are reading one life every night. It's a great book! Each life has a full-colour double-page spread on a girl or boy from a particular past culture. Costumes, objects landscapes and so on are explained with labels. The text is at a readable level, so she can read it to me, with just the right amount (block paragraph each on a topic in the chapter). It is really well produced, with just the right level of content - it's not dumbed down or superficial and it covers a good range of past peoples.really brings the past to life - well recommended!

El libro llegó muy dañado del lomo, cómo si se uniera caído, está aplastado y roto. No lo regreso porque he esperado muchos meses por él y no quiero aplanar más la espero, es por eso que no lo regreso.
