San Martin Men Watch 62 mas SN007GB, 39 mm 20 Bar Diver Watch NH35 Automatic Mechanical Luxury Diving Waterproof Wrist Watch

Definitely the best "homage" watch I have ever bought. It is almost a dead ringer for the Seiko 62mas diver, varying just enough to keep from getting sued, I imagine. The 39 mm dial diameter is just the right size for my thinner wrists. It sports a sapphire crystal, a smooth-as-butter one-way bezel, and a beautiful dark grey dial face that nicely complements the black bezel. The lume is amazingly bright and I could still make it out hours later. Accuracy is within a second or two after one day. And it just looks gorgeous on the wrist! I went into this wondering if $180 was too much to pay for a Chinese micro brand homage. I now think I could have paid twice as much and still gotten a good deal. Get this, you won't be disappointed.

No credit for the design but it doesn’t matter. San Martin gets top marks from me for overall finishing, quality control, and total package. Sure the bracelet isn’t a $300 bracelet but it doesn’t matter it just does what it does. The watch itself is the show. At 39mm it’s a great all-around size. The gray dial looks superb and through the sapphire crystal, the applied markers make the watch easy to read. The lume is bright but hasn’t been really tested yet. So far it keeps decent time. The Seiko movement is well known to be reliable and tough and if it’s not regulated when you get it, crack the case open yourself and regulate it. (Giyf). Edges are nice, polishing is even and well done throughout, and alignment is near perfect. Gorgeous watch for a great price.

I collect watches ... I have about 100. I just happened on this watch ... it jumped out at me as identical to my first watch, the Seiko 62MAS that my parents gave me in 1970. It was Seiko's fist dive watch. I wore it thru High School, college and the military. Iwas still wearing it in 1988, when I got my Dive Master certification, and I wore it in 2003 when I made my deepest ever dive to 212 FT. I lost it a few years after that. Between the military and my career in federal law enforcement, that watch saw a lot of rough service. I missed it. When Seiko came out with the 62 MAS "reintroduction" of my original watch several years ago, I bought it but it was NOT the same. It didn't feel the same (bigger and heavier) and it didn't have the same handset. It's the one with the arrow handset pictured with another old Seiko of mine. This watch from San Martin seems perfect to me. It's specs are better than my old one. Specifically, this San Martin "hacks" and can be hand wound ... the 1970 version could not. This has a screw in case back and a screw down crown with a sapphire crystal depth rated to 200M ... original was a Hardlex crystal and rated to 150M. The lume is state-of-the-art for today and dramatically superior to what we had back then. I am struck by the fit and finish ... the bracelet is especially nice. It is MUCH nicer than the original and the clasp is very impressive. Anyone familiar with watches knows the NH35 movement ... it's a Seiko icon. The NH35 is extremely accurate and durable. I have no clue how they can market this watch at this price. Edited to add ... The third picture is the San Martin 62MAS with my new Seiko SPB143 62 MAS. Since I was wearing the San Martin every day, my wife bought me the Seiko version for $1200 for Christmas. The $179 San Martin compares MORE than favorably. If I handed someone who didn't know anything about the brand names both watches and told them one cost $179 and the other $1200, they'd have no clue which was which and they could easily guess wrong. If you look at the original ad for the Seiko 62MAS from back in the day and use it for comparison, the San Martin is a MUCH better rendition ... notice the dial color is a shade different. Where the San Martin has it right and Seiko has it wrong ... the bezel on the Seiko is thicker/crystal a little smaller, the indices are slightly shorter, the lume dot is in a triangle and there is no silver frame around the date window. In your hands, the quality feels the same. For ME ... I look at the San Martin and it is exactly the watch I wore for 30+ years, a gift from my parents, and my dive watch through more than a thousand hours under water. For YOU, without all the history, ... the San Martin is one VERY impressive watch, a better version of the 62MAS than anything else out there. The San Martin lume is better than the Seiko (who beats Seiko for lume) and the Time Grapher pic shows the accuracy of the San Martin. -3 sec/day is the best you ever see, even many of the finest Swiss luxury watches don't do that well. Last Pic ... At this point, I five San Martins in my collection with their SN0129 GMT on the way. I also have several Tandorios from Ali Express that are amazing.

I went through a couple of different watches over the last few years - Seiko, Apple etc. Apple doesn't do well in the wild, died in a pool, the Seiko is a good watch but the dial was such that my old eyes couldn't read it without glasses. Checked Seiko for dark face and white hands and waterproof (not resistant), and everything was over $400 or $500 dollars. Googled for a cheaper substitute and this kept popping up. Solid beautiful watch, keeps perfect time over the last few days, fits my wrist well, good bracelet, I have nothing but praise. Now I just need to hit the pool or lake, and see how it fairs, lol. I got it on sale for $170 so I don't mind wearing it everyday as a beater watch. Also, it's pleasantly heavy. Buy it.

The watch looks great. It is heavy on my wrist, I like the weight and feel. The luminescence of the dial in the dark is excellent. However, for an automatic watch it doesn't hold a charge very long. I wore it for several days before switching to my self-winding Seiko for the day. When I looked at the San Martin some 12 hours later I saw it had stopped and needed to be manually wound to reset the time. Not what I expected. I'm disappointed because I do like the look and feel of the watch.

I was looking for a nice looking watch to wear when I travel that has a luminous dial. This watch has a ceramic unidirectional bezel, sapphire crystal, 200m water resistant,Seiko Automatic movement and lock down crown and back. Was concerned about overall finish and quality control especially on the band. Everything was finished perfectly, runs great. Band adjustment took 5 minutes at the local watchmaker, he even said that this watch looked professional. The Chinese watch market is doing good job for a really reasonable price. If anything happens to it, loss or theft while traveling I am out under $200. Not thousands for a name brand diver watch. Strongly recommend.

Ganz gespannt wartete ich auf diese Uhr. Diese kam schneller als erwartet. Ich habe mich für diese Uhr entschieden, weil ich von den Eckdaten für diesen Preis sehr angenehm überrascht war. Außerdem imitiert sie die Jubiläumungsuhr der Seiko 65er Diver, welche ich Megaschön finde. Für mich aber unerreichbar ist, weil es sie nur noch auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt gibt und dort das 20fache kostet. Zu den Eckdaten. Nh 35 Uhrwerk. Ist in der Seiko 5 Serie verbaut und hat einen Sekundenstopp und Aufzug .Läuft bei mir 12 sek. nach. Das Saphiglas scheint entspiegelt zu sein , es schimmert zumindest am Rand bläulich und ist nicht so gewölbt wie beim Original. Dafür ist die Gehäusegröße am 65er Original näher dran, als das Jubiäumsmodell. Die Keramiklünette hat eine 120er Rastung und ist eher etwas rustikaler zu bedienen. Dafür gut ausgerichtet. Das Zifferblatt hat leider nicht den für Seiko so berühmt schönen Schliff, das wäre wohl auch zuviel des Guten, sondern ist blaugrau matt lackiert. Was aber unbedingt erwähnenswert noch wäre. Die Superluminiva. BGW 9 wird angegeben. Wenn das so ist, wäre das schon eine richtige Ansage. Und das kann auch so sein. Die Leuchtkraft ist sehr stark. Die Intensität der Leuchtdauer kann ich für 2 Stunden schon bestätigen, sollte aber bei mindestens 5 Std liegen. Über die Wasserdichtigkeit kann ich nichts sagen. Aber ich gehe davon aus, daß sie schon einem gewissen Druck standhält. Fazit: Eine wirklich gut gemachte Uhr für schmales Geld mit Eckdaten, die in dieser Preisklasse sehr ungewöhnlich sind. Wenn sie hält was sie verspricht, lass ich das Werk bei Gelegenheit noch nachregulieren.
