Yes, the konjac noodles smell a little odd, but if you follow the instructions on the pouch, you will have no trouble and no "off taste" or bad smell. All that being said, they certainly are not pasta noodles, and marinara sauce will not hold/absorb very well at all. I like to use them with a peanut sauce, I like to put them in skillet scrambles, I like to put them in big green mixed salads. Mostly I like them in these ways because I need to curb my appetite before it gets ahead of me and high-volume, low-calorie foods like this are excellent resources. I have these on regular order.

I just had chili spaghetti for supper using these noodles and they were so good I wanted to come leave a review right away in case somebody else is on the fence about ordering them. First of all, there was absolutely no smell. I have a really sensitive stomach when it comes to smells, I can’t even sleep without getting sick to my stomach if something is cooking in a crockpot for instance, so I was really worried that there might be a funky smell like a lot of people have talked about with konjak noodles. There was absolutely no scent or smell when I open them or when I boiled them. Also, I read a lot of the reviews before buying them, and saw a lot of tips that such as boiling them for longer than five minutes and mixing them with whatever sauce while they heated them up to incorporate the taste. I made keto chili and after boiling the noodles for about 6 to 7 minutes, I drained them and mixed in some of the chili with them. They were delicious! On the first bite I was scared that the texture might be a little weird but it actually was just like al dente pasta. I can’t stand pasta that’s cooked too long, so these are perfect to me! I am thrilled about it because I love pasta of all kinds and that was one of the main things that I was missing. I’ll definitely be buying the other varieties!

This is a vegetable altenative to flour pasta. Basically it is Konjac root which is a source for the fiber Glucomannen. Very low in calories. Very filling because of the high fiber content. Some konjac root products have an unpleasant odor, these are odor free Each package is 9 1/2 ounces perfect for a meal. They heat in two to three minutes They are expensive. What I found works better is a 'spiralizer' for about the same price as one box of these.... and using zuchinni to make vegan noodles. Summmary... if you are using flour pasta or ramen noodles, these are a great alternative and much healthier. But very high priced ( for my food budget ) If you are looking for a healthier alternative to flour based pasta or noodles check out the 7 blade spiralizer... they are simple, easy to use, easy to clean and make adding veggies to your diet a snap. Start with zuchinni noodles.

I liked these a good amount. They remind me more of a ramen noodle style of noodle. No issue with funky smell so that is awesome. Worked just fine as a spaghetti noodle replacement as long as you go in knowing that this is not a spaghetti noodle and thus do not expect a 1 to 1 match to the noodle you are surely familiar with. My only negative is the cost. They are very pricey for what you get. I know, I know, the cost of eating better now versus the cost of negative medical issues down the road is way better but still, it hurts a bit to buy this multi pack of noodle replacements. For us right now, 1 pack equals one serving. So it takes 4 packs for our Spaghetti meal. These were way better than Miracle Noodles Fettuccine noodles! The Miracle noodles were too think(which produced a strange squish that made me feel like I was chewing a chunk of fat off some kind of meat) and there was indeed a fishy smell. I know this is not a fair comparison but this is what I have tried so far from this style of noodle replacement.

Wow! I tried Kanjac noodles years ago and they were SO bad..these are a great improvement! definitely NOT the Consistency of real noodles, more like cellophane noodles kind of chewy but I fed them to my kids in an udon beef broth and they just thought they were real noodles that were a little undercooked, and they are used to me switching out cauliflower for potatoes or radishes for red potatoes and things like that so are leery when I introduce new things lol...these have no weird smell at all, you just have to drain the liquid out and let them soak up whatever broth you are serving them with, no need to cook them..its not at all like real spaghetti so I dont think my kids would have been fouled if I tried it with tomato sauce but worked well for this.
