You will never guess what we used these for.... bought five bushels of apples this past fall, and wanted to store them in a cool place, which in our case is a room between the garage and the house. Unfortunately, the room is not mouse-proof. So I didn't want to store the apples on the floor, or where mice could get at them. The Solution?? Hang the bags of apples from the ceiling using these screws! It has worked like a charm! Here it is almost January in Western New York State, and the apples are still doing fine. The air can circulate around the bags, and they are up high where nothing can get at them, and it's a little warmer up there than the 20-something degree weather we have had, so they are not freezing.

I use it to hang the flag from our deck on legal holidays...works well even in the wind.
