For restricted diets, grits and salad dressing are 2 winning uses
My daughter is on an extremely limited diet. She is 34yrs old and only 72lbs. She has to limit her sodium, potassium and fluids and cannot tolerate any kinds of creamy caloric drinks. Because of these restrictions, smoothies, yogurt and oatmeal are restricted. Since those are some of the most commonly suggested foods to mix this with, she had to get creative. She is determined to gain weight and has found 2 winning uses for this caloric supplement. * * update at bottom of review - grits - after several experiments in cooking processes, she found that mixing this into the water before bringing to a boil, worked best. Bring water + Benecalorie to a boil. Add grits and cook as usual. Top with unsalted butter. - Tahini + Benecalorie Salad Dressing 2 tbsp tahini (or peanut or any nut butter) 2 tbsp lime juice (or lemon) 2 tbsp maple syrup 1 tbsp soy sauce or coco aminos 1 tbsp sesame oil 1 tsp ginger (freshly grated or Spice World squeeze bottle) 1/2 tsp sriracha or chili-garlic sauce (omit or adjust amt for spice preference) 1-2 packets Benecalorie The Benecalorie will thicken the dressing, so to thin with water or more sesame oil if you prefer. For a more basic (and less Asian flavored) dressing, just use the first three ingredients (tahini, maple syrup and citrus) with the Benecalorie. She uses this dressing on veggies and also on chilled macaroni with shredded chicken as a pasta salad. I have tasted both the grits and the salad dressing. They are both delicious, and the Benecalorie doesn't ruin taste, smell or consistency. Initially, the grits proved slightly problematic. Her first try: cook the grits as usual, then mix the Benecalorie into the bowl of completely cooked grits. Somehow, the Benecalorie would not completely incorporate into the grits. No matter how much she stirred, a film of oil float back up and she'd have to mix again before taking every bite. Because it would never completely mix in, there was also the slightest of smell. Not a bad smell, but just a slightly oily smell that you couldn't get away from noticing because the product would not incorporate fully. Second try: mix the Benecalorie into the grits while it was cooking. Better, but the oil would still separate in the cooked product. Not as much smell though. Third try: add the Benecalorie into just the pot of water. Do this before boiling and before adding the grits. Bring water and Benecalorie to a boil, then add the grits. Perfect. Mixes in completely. No separation. No smell. Added bonus is that the grits turn out creamier and fluffier this way too. Top with butter and you'd never know you'd just added 330 calories to your morning breakfast. She's only just begun using this product, but we are hopeful these added calories will help in her recovery. Just received our second case of this and will use it up in the salad dressing, but wanted to mention that my daughter has developed a slight intolerance to eating a full container with her grits. It doesn't make her sick, but just tends to leave her with a feeling of an upset stomach for several hours after eating her grits breakfast. At the risk of TMI, she said it doesn't give her the runs or cause her to throw up; just an uneasy and slightly queasy feeling like she's eaten something too oily or rich. She used to have an entire container mixed into her breakfast grits, and she said by afternoon, she feels "normal" again. She will continue to mix it into her favorite salad dressing, but has discontinued having it with her morning bowl of grits.

Stop Complaining
Omg, Do not listen to the reviews below. You probably bought this because you need it. Benecalorie is thick and oily ok. It does not mix into liquid seamlessly but it's only a shot glass full of 330 calories. That means a lot of people who need it get what they need from it. It's not flavorless more like a little chalky or milky. Similar to a peanut buttery taste. I used it in my coffee as creamer to test it out. It's not gross, wasn't bad but more importantly, It's 330 calories! That's a life saver for some people. Yes you can drink Ensure instead but some people cannot tolerate those shakes or so much liquid. If you can, great. If we all could, this product would not exist. We would just buy Boost or Ensure. Best bet is to mix into soup, juice, potatoes, yogurt, smoothies etc. I wouldn't want it in a full glass of juice, maybe a half of cup because it's thick and the oil floats to the top. It's not the best in hot drinks cause it separates unless you drink it fast but works well in soup. We mix it into tea by adding the BC into the last quarter cup. That way my daughter, who has GI issues and is underweight but drinks most liquids except smoothies or yogurt and doesn't have an appetite at times, will not really mind the taste because she doesn't know until the end since she was drinking plain tea and the last bit is thick. You can also fill a shot glass with half BC and a liquid. Drink it two times and have them finish whatever they were drinking after to wash it down. Done. Almost like giving a dose of medicine since most complain it changes the taste of the full meal. Just don't put it in a full meal. Problem solved. Get creative. It's 330 calories. If it makes you sick and Ensure doesn't, drink that instead. It's a great option for those who have searched for something to help since it's so small and so efficient. Whining doesn't help people that need it.

Tiny package, HUGE amount of nutrition and calories. A blessing to people who have food intake problems.
My Mom was in her final stages of Alzheimers and had started to refuse solid food. As her daughter and caregiver, I was thrown into a panic. I started to do some research to see how I was going to get nutrition into her. I found an ultra high calorie version of Boost and I found Benecalorie. I wasn't just looking for calories. I wanted nutrition. Both the Boost and Benecalorie give real nutrition, vitamins and proteins, in addition to calories. Combined, they provided close to 1000 good calories in an 8 oz drink. It was the answer to my prayers. Benecalorie has no taste, so you can add it to anything without adding any weird taste. So why only 4 stars? Well, the one problem that Benecalorie has is that it thickens whatever you combine it with to the point where you could stand a spoon up in it. Whatever you put it in becomes difficult to drink or eat. I found that if you heated it, it does liquify. So I started making hot chocolate...chocolate Boost plus Benecalorie. If you put it into food, make sure it's hot food. The thickening was the ONLY problem I had with Benecalorie....a very minor problem considering it was saving her life. Being able to get that much nutrition into my Mom gave her energy and her mental health actually improved as well. So, if you are in a situation where you or someone you love can't eat solid food, for whatever reason, Benecalorie comes to the rescue. I am so grateful to have found Benecalorie at a time when it was so critical. I understand that cancer patients also find that this product allows them to get nutrition into their diets when it's otherwise impossible. I hope that this review gets read by anyone who is as desperate as I was to find a solution to a critical problem.

Don't like the Sucralose
My only problem is the sucralose, which can harm gut health if taken regularly, I have a intestinal condition and this could really help me, but the sucralose means it could also make it worse over time, they don't really have a flavor, just tastes like oil, so I don't really understand the use of the sweetner

Calorie and Protein Supplement for Special Dietary Needs
I recently purchased this calorie and protein supplement for my grandmother, who recently started dialysis and was experiencing weight loss. I was in search of a product that could help add calories to her diet, and I'm pleased to say that this supplement has exceeded my expectations. One of the standout features of this product is its versatility. The unflavored formula allows for flexible serving options, making it easy to incorporate into my grandmother's diet. Whether mixed with her favorite drinks, protein shakes, soft foods, or other nutritional supplements, it seamlessly blends in, ensuring she receives the necessary calories and protein intake. I appreciate that this supplement caters to a variety of dietary needs. It is suitable for gluten-free, low-residue, fluid-restricted, cholesterol-free, kosher, and lactose intolerance diets. This versatility ensures that individuals with specific dietary restrictions can still benefit from this product. However, it is important to note that it is not suitable for individuals with galactosemia. Considering both nutritional and digestive needs, this product from Nestle offers a comprehensive solution. Nestle is known for its range of specialized GI and nutrition formulas, catering to both adult and pediatric needs. This particular supplement is designed to meet the needs of individuals with GI dysfunction, illness, or increased energy requirements. It serves as a reliable source of essential nutrients, supporting overall health and well-being. To ensure optimal results, it is recommended to shake the product vigorously before opening, ensuring a well-mixed consistency. This step ensures that the supplement is properly blended and ready for consumption. In conclusion, this calorie and protein supplement has been a valuable addition to my grandmother's diet. Its neutral flavor, ease of mixing with various foods and drinks, and suitability for different dietary needs make it a versatile and convenient option. The fact that it addresses both nutritional and digestive requirements further emphasizes its effectiveness. I would highly recommend this product to anyone seeking to add calories and protein to their diet, particularly for individuals with specific dietary restrictions or increased energy needs.

Couldn’t get pass smell/ thickness
I hate to leave a bad review as I never leave reviews but I felt the need to leave a review on this product. I’m not a picky eater but I struggle with getting enough calories daily to gain weight. I like to order products and try for myself instead of going by other people reviews. When I first opened the product it was very silky so I was like this isn’t bad I can manage adding it into different foods. It wasn’t until I added it into my boost and it turned the drink very chalky, grainy, and thick. It tasted terrible. I had to take a sip then drink water behind every sip to get it down and not smell/ taste the after taste. I also tried adding it in yogurt but it did the same thing as well. It has a very funny smell to it; the smell is unbearable. No matter what drinks/ food you add to this product the texture will change and thicken up in clumps once added. I even tried warming it up which did not work. Do not try to purchase and think you will find a way to make it work; it’s not tasteless, smells bad, and will get clumpy in texture. I love the ideal of the product it has potential but the thickness it creates once adding it into products and unbearable smell/ taste has to go! I will have to take the loss on my money.

Read the good reviews, not the low ones. Think of your goal!
This is 1.5 Oz with 350 calories. Calories esentially come from oil and 7g of protein. No real taste on its own. Shake each container for at least a minute, then pour immediately for best results. Yes, it *can* mix in any food or drink, but some work better than others. Yes, it does change the texture of the item it's mixed with- mostly thickening it. So you learn to choose wisely! It took ensure from *chocolate milk * to milkshake consistency (difficult to slurp through a straw) It mixed best for us in pudding and yogurt, as the consistency changed, but not enough to be off-putting. Made feeding easier. Worked nicely in oatmeal, too! If your person who needs this uses thickener, you will need to adjust accordingly. Bottom line, it's a lot of calories in a small quantity. Great for people who have trouble taking in sufficient calories to thrive- or even just to live.
