I bought this product to record a series of recurring sounds in an external location. It didn't entirely fulfil my needs but that was a result of my poorly prepared specification of requirement rather than a fault of the product.This machine is very well built, I found the principal functions relatively easy to use although I would say that it is easier to save all the recordings to the SD card and simply transfer the card to the computer rather than try to transfer the files via the USB link as suggested in the instructions.The sound quality through the machine speaker is very poor but that is to be expected for such a small machine the sound quality is fine through a decent set of headphones.It is extraordinarily small - I don't have any experience of contemporary portable recorders: they may all be of similar size, but check out the size if that is likely to be a factor in the choice of purchase.Very good value for money.

For such a small recorder this thing really delivers great sound quality with simplicity of use.The speaker in this recorder surpasses every other 'pocket' recorder I have ever used.I have given it 5 stars for the superb sound quality, both in recording and playback, size is smaller than I expected but that is no bad thing as it is the perfect size for a top pocket in a jacket.Now, the one minor caveat..... This one made me chuckle, the 2 'mics' on each side are actually fake, yes, they are only for show - the 'real' mic is in the centre, if you look carefully you can see the mesh, multiple tests have confirmed this, does it matter? Probably not, it looks the part and the quality of its delivery and simplicity of use outweighs this minor 'decoration'.All in all, a great little recorder that punches well above its weight, highly recommended.

This is one quality feeling heavy metal body machine that doesn't quite do what it looks - but can be made to. The two silver mics on the top are fake. There is a microphone behind a grill that sits flush between them. This does not seem to be stereo. Yet the description says it records in stereo and using a line in I was able to record in stereo. The level meter graphic that runs also seems to be no more than that rather than an actual responding bar chart. The menu system and weird secondary use of named function buttons makes it confusing... however.. set to the highest quality format settings and using a 3rd party plugged in microphone it makes very good recordings. The lower quality format and built in microphone will make I expect adequate memo recordings but not ones you might want it for. So it is both very good and a little disappointing which then brings me to 4 stars.. it is compromised but still good value for the price.. It's good looks are actually let down by the silly fake microphones (but may be the case is also used for a more expensive potential model with microphones).

Took a few seconds to orientate around the menu, but then got the date and time set and tried the recorder from inside my shirt top pocket, sensitivity is wonderful and time for recording is immense. on 32kb/s it will hold nearly 1200 hrs of recordings.... The volume is plenty loud enough and there are both sockets for microphones and speakers to be added if you need that extra loudness to share with a crowd,. At just under £30 this is excellent value and I now have 3 of these items. I also have a parabolic microphone that can be connected to this recorder to allow me to hear birds while out in the field. Great value and ease of use speak for themselves.

It's small, sound's playback & recording quality adjustable, plenty of memory.Recording playback it's standard i heard better but does the job.Would of been better if it was type-c charger than the old Samsung charger connection.If it falls of your hands definitely will break no question asked solid heavy for a small build very slightly slippery to hold as it's flush metal body.But item is really nice and easy to use once you familiarise it.Has mp3 player, memory card slot space, separate folders for recordings & mp3 and has time and date accurately.Only down fall is switching on takes a 8secs delay and recording 2-3secs delay and if it goes stand by mode it's like it switched off on blank screen so you hold on play button now to switch on & takes few seconds like smilar to switching on.

I use these recordings for work and I am now missing an important recording.When you connect the recorder to your laptop to transfer the files it asks you to encrypt it otherwise you cannot edit the files and therefore also you cannot delete them from it.I cannot leave them on the recorder due to data protection and would also run out of space eventually.I was able to copy several files the first time and postponed encryption as it was very slow.Yesterday I started encryption as the recording I had from this week wasn't showing in the local folder on the recorder itself or in the usb drive folder on my laptop.I left it overnight to encrypt and it didn't not pass 0.2% of completion.I had to disconnect it and followed the procedure of pausing it to avoid damaging the files, however this did not work and all the files are now damaged and inaccessible.As I missed the return window by 2 days, I will have to buy a new one and lose hours of work that counts towards my training.Do not buy!!

Very difficult to learn how to use the 'buttons'. This was bought for a lady to record choir practice. When finally found a recording the quality was OK but all the controls were not straight forward.

Lasted nearly 2 years still going strong, durable to being knocked about, loud, decent standard memory, great battery life, recorder works a treat, easy to interface with computers, honestly a great purchase. Pretty much daily use since 03/23, and no problems ever.
