Gentle on my post chemo hair.
I am more than pleased with my first purchase of Naturtint Hair Colour, from all the products I researched this appeared the kindest for my newly grown and sensitive hair after chemotherapy. I lost my hair completely and waited patiently for it to grow back to a point that I could colour it. It had returned almost completely grey, dry and brittle. I was very apprehensive about what product to use so as not to further damage the hair but definitely wanted to use something because as it was, it was making me feel old before my time and after going through all that horrendous and at times brutal treatment which gives your body image the ultimate battering, I wanted at least some of my confidence, sparkle and glow back. This product did the trick, my hair may be short but the resulting colour (4M/Mahogany Chestnut) was so vibrant and luscious and made me smile the biggest smile upon looking in the mirror. It is such a deep and rich shade and I wasn't expecting that from something free of harsh chemicals and made with 99% natural ingredients, I was dubious as to whether it would cover the strong and stubborn grey but it absolutely did! Application was a breeze, I mixed only half the mixture to a ratio of 1:1 in a separate applicator bottle and it was more than enough for my short hair so I have enough for another session when the need arises. It was gentle on my scalp and so nourishing on my hair, after just one application , not only was my hair a gorgeous colour it was soft, smooth and conditioned. The after colour quinoa conditioner mask included is integral to the whole colouring process and for a perfect finish so definitely not a step to be skipped and the generous amount means it can be used a good few times afterwards to keep your colour looking it's best. Naturtint may well be a little on the pricey side compared to some others on the market but I will 100% be purchasing again because to me it was worth every penny, it was kind and gentle on my 'new' hair which had grown back in a sad and sorry state. It has not only given my hair new colour but also a new lease of life. The fact I can get two applications from the one pack whilst my hair is still only short is a welcome bonus but when it grows longer (fingers crossed) and needs the entire contents to suffice, I will still be more than happy to purchase because it is a superior, vegan product of exceptional standard, enriched with organic oils and natural ingredients and my hair is most definitely worth it, as am I! Definitely easier on the pocket than a trip to the salon. So many stunning colours to choose from is a joy and I may well experiment in the future but for now this is my perfect shade. I would post a photo but my confidence isn't quite there yet, hopefully soon. Thank you Naturtint for a remarkable product.

Great product. Conditions and xolours
I’ve been using for many years it’s the only hair colour I can use as I’m allergic to other hair dyes that contain parabens. I like the range of natural colours. Makes hair silky and shiny

💯 Grey hair coverage with N shades
My review is based on 7N Hazelnut Blond. Easy to use and the box comes with everything you need including gloves. I applied the mixture and combed it though for even coverage, then wrapped my head in cling film and left it on for 40 minutes. I wasn't expecting the greys to all be covered but they were. The colour looked nice although it was darker than I expected, not so much blonde as hazelnut, hence my 4 star rating and not 5. Having said that, I'd use the same colour again because it does cover grey & looking at some of the reviews for the lighter colours they don't seem to fare so well. You don't have to use this for the whole head, there are instructions if you just want to do a root touch-up. Update: The leaflet in the box says that for BEST GREY HAIR COVERAGE use the Natural N shades, Mahoganies M or coppers C. Check the FAQ if you're not sure as there's lots of information for grey hair coverage as well as the mixing of colours. Update update: I also tried 8A Ash Blonde: Lovely colour and covers grey very well. Having said that I did leave the colour on for 40 minutes. I've recently tried 8N Wheatgerm Blond which is a lovely colour and covers grey 100%. Not as dark as the Hazelnut Blonde. NATURAL (N) shades are perfect if you wish to keep your natural tone. ASH (A) shades will add a cool tone to your hair and are ideal for counteracting 'brassiness'.

Super
Beautiful colour. It covered all my grey hair, despite the recommended N series!

Beautiful Chocolate Colour
Best hair colour I’ve ever used, bar none! I started to go grey at 23 so at 50 I needed to avoid chemicals for health reasons but also I could not be bothered with dying it anymore, so I cut my long hair and started growing it out...only to find, two years later, that my grey is very uneven, starting from still brown at the top, then grey to white at the sides...kinda like Paulie from The Sopranos. Nice! The reason I’m telling you this is to give you an impression of what a challenge I was to this hair colour; in addition to the sporadic greys and whites, I’ve still got about an inch of what looks pretty black still, at the ends. I paint a gorgeous picture...one upside to lockdown. My problem has always been that my hair super-absorbs colour; my hairdresser would use light brown and it would look black. So, never having had the colour I wanted (always wanted a dark chocolate colour) and with four different colours on my poor old noggin, I approached this colour with very little hope....only to find my prayers answered! I now have chocolate brown hair, thanks to this fabulous product and the coverage has been excellent, with the very black ends only slightly noticeable, blending in well but of course they’ll be chopped off ASAP. The coverage on my pure white wings is phenomenal so I’ve just bought my next box. My confidence (and to be honest appearance!) is much improved and I’m absolutely delighted. I highly recommend this colour to you. I would just say that, based on the name of my colour, to probably choose a shade lighter than the colour you hope to achieve; I bought this expecting it to be quite dark and it is, although it has the chocolate tones rather than looking black, which is exactly what I want but if you’re looking for a lighter brown, based on this, I’d advise heading into the blonde colours. If you have lots of mid grey to white and want a dark chocolate colour then I’d say look no further and hope your experience is as positive as mine.🤞💞

FRIED strawberry blonde hair
* * * * * * * * * UPDATE 28/05/2015: See comment #2 below on how I fixed my hair if you have experienced similar problems. * * * * * * * * * My natural hair colour is a neutral, medium blonde, pretty much exactly like the lovely lady on the packet. So after getting a few lighter blonde highlights for the summer, I thought I could go back to my natural colour using Naturtint 8N, which also promised to be less damaging than conventional hair dyes. Now I'm not stupid. Despite the cleverly phrased allusions to natural ingredients, Naturtint is not BASED on natural ingredients, it CONTAINS a few plant based extracts. They also simply replace ammonia with phenylenediamine, which is equally harmful, but hey, now they can claim that it's ammonia free. I knew all of this before I used the product, but since it contains a smaller amount of harmful chemicals than standard hair dyes and received many glowing reviews on various websites, I decided to give it a try. What could possibly go wrong? Maybe I am stupid. I should have stopped as soon as I saw the colour of the colourant: bright red (which later turned into a very warm yellow after mixing it with the colour developer). Yes, this isn't supposed to be ash blonde, but this dye is waaay to warm/golden, there has to be at least a hint of blue/violet pigment in order to achieve a neutral shade. But hey, who am I to give someone a lecture on basic colour theory? So I trusted the professionals and the reviewers and these were the results: PROs: - smells more like a conditioner than hair dye - did not burn as much as conventional products - even coverage + colour CONs: - FRIED my hair. Literally. It became so dry that I couldn't comb it without risking to break off several strands, even after using the multiplier (conditioner) that was included in the packet - brassy, unnatural, much too light strawberry blonde instead of a neutral medium blonde Since both my natural roots and the lighter blonde highlights ended up a light strawberry blonde, it's definitely not due to my previously coloured hair, but due to the product. I left it on for the maximum amount of time, because I could see that it was turning very brassy at first and the longer I left it on, the less brassy it got, but after 45 minutes the colouring process had run its course and I was left with strawberry blonde, fried hair. My hair has NEVER been in such a bad shape (and believe me, I experimented with all kinds of perms and dyes when I was a teenager) and I could kick myself for trusting a supposedly natural and gentle product blindly. Now I have no other choice but to go to my hairdresser who will probably have a laugh.

Good Consistency/no harsh smell
Nice consistency and no strong smell. Not sure it's made much difference in my overall colour, just evened it out

Does exactly what it says on the box!
I never leave reviews but lately I've tried so many different hair dyes and they have stained my skin, not covered my greys, the colour hasn't lasted, hard to apply etc but this one is none of that! The cream has a jelly consistency so it doesn't drip, no horrible smells, covered all my greys, lovely colour and no stains on my skin! Ordered another box straight away and will definitely be using in the future! Forgot your big brands on the shelves!
