A1! This works great and keeps my food waste out of the landfill.
When I purchased this I saw the mixed reviews, but decided to go ahead. I mean for the price... This device is excellent. It is so handy for keeping food waste from the landfill. It does not smell. It is super quite. It handles everything it advertises it can. I dump the output into my planter. I expect an excellent crop next year.

Worth it. Makes a ton of compost. Don't hesitate to buy!
Works Great! I have been using this for about a month. I was hesitant at first, but this is a very good product and worth the extra coins. It makes fabulous compost material. It is quiet and is designed to look good on a countertop. The compost pail is made of excellent material and should last for years. It is easy to use and easy to clean. Just rinse it out in the sink and put it back into the machine. I fill it with scraps all day, then run at night. I am careful with bones. I put no large bones in it- only small, delicate bones (if any). I don't even put chicken wing bones in it, but the manufacturer says you can. I keep the browns to greens ratio as close as I can (2 or 3 parts brown to 1 part green). I find that typical kitchen scraps, including coffee grounds, hit the ratio kind of naturally. You can put small amounts of starches (rice, pasta, bread), but not too much, and make sure you have enough browns to compensate. Do not put ONLY starches in the bin; this will not end well. I leave the pail on my counter all day as I fill it up and use the lid from the machine to cover the pail so as not to draw flying insects. I have not had a problem with insects at all so far. I would not let it sit out more than a day to a day and a half before running. it. I normally cook for 2 to 4 people and make enough scraps to run it almost every night. We are also coffee drinkers, and coffee (including the filters) is a great addition to the compost. I have used the compost already, and it mixes VERY well with my soil. I was using a messy, difficult, and disappointing compost tumbler, and after a year had little compost and it was of poor quality. With this machine, I am on track to double my kitchen compost, and it is of excellent quality.

Good Way to Shrink Food Scraps
I've put a couple dozen cycles on my unit and really like the results. This unit is fairly compact and does a great job of grinding up food wastes into dust and small particles. The resulting product is about 1/3 of what was loaded. I wouldn't consider it finished compost by any means. Though it is a pretty good start. Only two issues so far. I had to move the unit to my garage because the odor generated was too much for in the kitchen. The carbon filter knocks down odor, but doesn't eliminate it. The other was when I put a bag of rotten grapes in the unit. The contents set up like cement. It took a day of chipping, soaking, and scrubbing to everything out so that I could use the unit again. Overall, the unit is a pretty good value.

Huge fan!
This was exactly what I wanted! Before buying, you should do your research and understand what this is and what it isn't. 1. This is essentially a food dryer/grinder. It prepares food waste to be composted. IT IS NOT A COMPOSTER. Once the food has been processed, add it to your soil, and the natural process of composting will occur. 2. It's pretty easy to clean. After use, I empty it then soak it in water for a few minutes to loosen any dried food. Strands do get stuck in the metal on the side, so I use a metal skewer to scrape out the gunk that won't come out. Otherwise, after soaking, it washes out pretty easily. If there's a lot of stuck-on gunk, you can also run it through the dishwasher. 3. After cooking and producing a lot of food waste, I run the machine, which will run for 1-6 hours, depending on several factors. I like to run it overnight, but it's not noisy, so it can run at any time. 4. I've never noticed any odor. Refer to the manual as to what should and shouldn't go in it. DON'T LEAVE FOOD WASTE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE RUNNING IT. I bought a separate countertop pail with a filter for smaller amounts of food waste that may sit for a few minutes. 5. The resulting "compost" is a very small amount. It's valuable if you have a flower bed or other small amount of lawn/garden where you want to cultivate healthy soil. I cook with fresh produce quite often, so I like that I'm adding to my flower bed over time. 6. Despite all the "no's" in the manual, there is a wide variety of food you can add to it. Try different types of foods and see what works well. I've found that a variety of foods at once works best, but I've never seen any problems with anything I've added to it. You'll discover what kinds of food provide the best quality of "compost." 7. The size is only 2.5 quarts, so it is small, but if you run it daily, or even a couple of times if you have a large amount of food to throw out. The size is perfect for the amount of food waste produced when cooking dinner. I think this is an excellent machine, very easy to use, and well worth the money. If you want to truly compost, you need to get an outdoor composter. Do your research, know what you're getting, and I think you'll be happy.

Works efficiently & bucket is easy to fill & remove
Composter is easy to use & not loud. It works well & is not too big. The lid has a glass window to check on the progress I’m amazed how it grinds up everything & turns it into a powdery fine powdery compost that looks like a fine sawdust. It takes a few hours to complete the process but I like the compost efficiency.

Love this!! Cheaper than Lomi, and has saved us SO MUCH headache. We used to put our scraps in the freezer to keep them from smelling until it was time to put the compost out, but it wasn’t ideal. Gross old food frozen in the freezer. With this composter, which we run generally once a day for a family of three, there is NO MORE mess in the freezer, and we’re using the composted material in the garden. Works really well. Sometimes doesn’t grind to that it’s exactly the texture of dirt, but definitely enough that it’s mainly dirt texture. Some things like banana peels (we eat a lot of bananas) leave a few stringy things in the composted material, but it’s not really an issue for us. It’s broken down 98% which is fine for it to go in the garden. We haven’t experienced ANY smell in the kitchen, and it has a bit of an earthy smell when you empty the composted material, but it’s not pungent or anything that leaves a smell in house. Fairly quiet, easy to clean, even if there are some things stuck onto the metal part, if you soak it for a few minutes with water and soap and then wipe and rinse. Tip: if you have coffee grounds that you compost, put a bit of coffee grounds in each time you run this because the coffee ground help everything else to be broken down really well! We're VERY happy with this purchase. Well worth the money. If you’re thinking about getting a tabletop composter, this one is an excellent investment, great price for value, works really well, saves you a lot of smelly mess regardless of how you usually deal with scraps. The ONLY thing I would say in caution is that if you have a lot of food waste, you may have to run it 2-3 times a day (which is still ok because it doesn’t generally take a hugely long time). This may not be for you if you have a ton of kitchen scraps to deal with because it can process a good amount at once, but I could see it not being big enough to handle the scraps from a really big family.

We bought this to produce our own fertilizer for our home garden and to reduce green waste in our bins as we live in a warm climate and it started to smell in the heat. Very well packaged, extremely easy but do read the manual as you cannot put everything in there. We have put it outside on covered porch to avoid smells in the house, but with our coffee grinds and oranges juice peels in there the smell is actually really nice! In a few hours with one button press you go from waste to fertilizer!

After years of cleaning the bins for organic garbage and hating it. I Found this little wonder and I LOVE IT. In my opinion very quite, no smell issues and will have great compost for my garden next year. One of the best buys I have ever made. Works great does what its says and takes fish and chicken bones. I have included a picture of the compost made in a week....and it litterally has almost no smell...just a mild earthy smell but you literally have to stick your nose in the bag. I have no issues oaying for the filters...rather that than the bin on the counter that you have to empty out everyday into that other bin that smells like hell in the summer that you have to constantly wash....and it still smells.... this little machine makes.me happy to be in the kitchen
