Great Quality
Does a Great job filtering out dust particles. Our home feels cleaner and looks better. The unit is extremely quiet, that was the most surprising part! Definitely recommend!

This is AWESOME!
I've never written a review before but because I'm so happy with this purchase and there aren't many reviews yet, I decided to write one. Things I LOVE about my new AirDoctor 5000: Bacteria & Viruses are between 0.02 - 0.2 microns in size, pollen is 10-20 microns, mold is 10 microns, dust is 5 microns, and smoke is 0.1-1 micron. The AirDoctor removes particles/PM 2.5 down to 0.003 microns, which is SO MUCH SMALLER than any of these contaminants! This is my favorite feature of all and the main reason why I got an AirDoctor for our family. My son has allergies. We've had two standard HEPA filters turned on at home for several years. The first day we got our AirDoctor 5000 he said it was a noticeable difference, and that it is really helping him a lot! The other reason I got this brand is that it was highly recommended by 3 people with allergies who keep telling me about how great it is. I have an open concept living/dining room and kitchen so I thought I'd get this larger one. It's QUIET! For the first several days I kept checking to make sure that it was on because I couldn't hear it. With the wheel design, it moves easily on both hard floors and carpet. Bottom line: I love this and am so happy to have it before wildfire season!

Thought I did my homework on researching quality air purifiers.......I was wrong!
Not worth it at all - does not do what it is supposed to do! Please read on for detailed instances: Purchased this to work in conjunction with a Dyson model we have in our bedroom for the main part of our house. At 1st setup it ran in the red(Bad quality) for about an hour or 2 - went to bed and by morning it was blue(Good quality). Stayed in the blue for the next 2 weeks. Thought it was doing its job until I decided to sweep and vacuum down our wood tongue and groove cathedral ceiling and walls. With dust literally falling on the unit it never turned on to orange or red - just stayed blue while our Dyson was on level 10 Strike two was when, me being an idiot and not shutting the door on the woodstove correctly, had smoke in the house. Enough smoke that the smoke alarms were going off and the Dyson behind a closed door was screaming on level 10 while the Air Doctor just putted along the color blue happy as can be. And fyi, the Dyson was at the other end of the house while the Air Doctor was about 6 feet away from the woodstove. There is no excuse for it to not clean the air at this point. Strike three was customer service. They had me open a door on the side of the unit, light a match and blow it out into the sensor behind the door while doing it on video to send in to them. I send 2 videos in. The 1st time nothing happened at all - color was blue so I tried it again. The 2nd time it actually went orange for about 5-8 seconds and went right back to blue. I got confirmation of the email and videos from Air Doctor stating that someone will be in touch in 48-72 hours. Never did hear back from them with the exception of the open case I had being closed because I never responded or sent in any videos even though I have an email stating I did and to wait for a response. To conclude - It does not clean the air as it should and customer service seems to just give you the run around.

Wow, This is an incredible unit!
My AIRDOCTOR 5000 arrived one week ago and I feel confident, after using it for just one week, that it will live up to all of my expectations. One thing in particular I noticed is that is has already eliminated the odor of mildew in a wood cabinet which has a tendency to build up during hot and muggy weather. There are several things I love about the airdoctor 5000. A few which are comment worthy are: The wheels-it is easy to move to another room if needed. the negative ion generator truly quiet operation except if something has burned in the kitchen, and the setting to turn off the lights at night. I think the company has done an excellent job of educating us about the importance of the air quality in our home and what we can do about it. I highly recommend this product. Mary D. San Diego, CA

Solid Product
After doing some research on various air purifier, I ended up buying this for my house and I’m glad I did. I wanted something that could handle a large area. The assembly and installation was very straight forward. The best feature I have noticed is the Air Doctor detects when there are more toxins in the air especially the smoke from cooking and it will automatically adjust the power level to keep the air clean and displays the air quality through a LED on the front. It’s quiet, the noise level is low when it’s running, which was important to me. I’m happy with my purchase.

wow very impressive! but beware the operating costs
We started our air purification journey on a whim. I have moderately bad seasonal allergies (ragweed and cedar) and it is ragweed season and I just couldn't face another 5 months of allergy medicine with a decongestant that requires me to swipe my drivers license to buy and has a monthly limit of how much I can purchase. Some stores around here only sell 5 days worth at a time and limit 1 package so I end up going to the store multiple times a week to purchase the "controlled substance" that is over the counter allergy medicine. One of my colleagues has been telling me to get an air purifier for years. We started with a small one (different brand) that works for just one room. We put it in the bedroom and after the first night I woke up with both nostrils open and able to breathe freely. My eyes weren't sticky. it was amazing. But that little room purifier won't support our big open concept living space. So we purchased this Air Doctor 5500 and we're very impressed with its performance. We leave it on auto 100% of the time and 95% of the time it is so quiet. We can tell it works because within seconds of cooking we hear it spin up to a higher setting automatically to purify the air of cooking odors and compounds. It is doing a great job filtering ragweed particles from the air. We have indoor / outdoor pets that bring in a lot of these airborne particles on their coats which usually have me sneezing shortly after they come in, especially when I pet them. The Air Doctor 5500 has changed this completely. When it is running it is as if I never had allergies! Total life changer! My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that in the 5000 they had a one air intake and 3 filter system. In the 5500 it is a two air intake and 6 filter system. So they've effectively doubled the number of filters which doubles the annual costs. Those filters have to be replaced every six months on average for a cost of around $250 so it's kind of like printer ink. It's a lot to pay up front and every couple years the maintenance costs are higher than the cost of the entire system. It feels scammy and gross. I see other air purification manufacturers setting their businesses up the same way to price gouge on filters. So I don't like this about the Air Doctor. And the costs to maintain it are much higher than the costs of my allergy medicine. But if we had three or more people in the household on allergy meds: we'd break even. If you're on a budget please take an hour to run some numbers and think carefully about which air purification system is right for you, because they will have no value to you at all if you're not able to maintain the filters. #recommended
