works great and a cleaner tank
ordered this for my 120l cichlid tank as they like to poo. as its a sand substrate the cleaning was a real problem. the wave maker has made this so much easier. the wave is now circulating the water which is now moving the fish mess to the filter so very little cleaning needed. You still need to clean the tank routinely but there's less to do. I love this so much its a game changer for me and save me a good hour having to vacuum the sand. The water is also so much clearer now too. The fish use the waves to exercise too which is great to watch.

A farce.
I ordered this from Amazon UK (I live in the uk). I wondered why with prime delivery it was taking so long to arrive, turns out it had been shipped from the US. At no point was it apparent that I was ordering a product from a US warehouse. When the pump finally arrived, the packaging was damaged. I opened the box to find it had a US plug. Not a major problem but inconvenient having to dig out an adapter. I installed the pump in the tank, switched it on, and it started pumping water although humming very loudly. The flow rate was reasonable. I tried rotating the pump within the water to expel air, but to no avail. After about five minutes use, the pump stopped working. Having removed the pump from the tank a faint electrical burning smell was apparent; I think it had a burnt out. I expect the prop shaft was bent during transit. Starting a return it became obvious that the package would be shipped back to the US. What a criminal waste of jet fuel sending it all the way to Indianapolis just so they can throw it in the bin. Also, why was the refund amount less than the amount I paid? Come on Amazon!

Nice Quiet Powerhead
Nice little powerhead, very quite and ideal for my 60l tank.

Very quiet, compact and efficient
read a few reviews saying it was noisy which almost put me off buying but there was some saying it was quiet so i purchased two of them and after a couple of days i can confirm they are very quiet and you don't hear them at all (my tank is in my living room) they are also very small and two of them fit nicely in my 52 litre tank definitely worth buying

Trusted name delivers the goods
Not the cheapest or the most powerful available but Fluval are a great name in aquatics so it’s well built, easy to install, simple, reliable. I’ve tried cheaper brands but always come back to Fluval.

It makes waves
I have used other makes and models of wave maker/CP2 and this is the quietest yet, to a point. I have mind pointing up at a 45 degree angle which keeps it really quiet, My aquarium is in my bedroom with the wave maker/CP2 running continuously. My CP2 is quiet.

Great product but simply no match to Hydor Koralia
I initially bought this product to use in my heavily planted 180L tropical tank, but eventually decided to go for a Hydor Koralia 3200. Being a big fan of the Fluval brand (all 3 of my canister filters + my 240L are Fluvals), I initially bought the CP3 but noticed that it was making noise. This was mainly coming from its power cord when it touched the edge of aquarium and it wasn't easy to adjust it in such way as to stop the rattling noise. Then I ordered the Hydor 3200 given their reputation in the wavemaker market. When that arrived I got a chance to compare both at the same time. After testing them side to side, I decided to return the CP3.. As always, absolutely hassle free return and refund from Amazon and seller aquacadabra. ****Fluval Sea CP3*** ADVANTAGES -smaller/shorter than Hydor 3200 so takes less space within aquarium -enough flow for 180L -cheaper DISADVANTAGES -more noisy, cable rattles when touching aquarium edge -design less versatile -no 360 degree swivel head meaning changing direction of flow isn't as easy as the Hydor -less power than Hydor 3200 **Hydor 3200** ADVANTAGES -absolutely brilliant magnetic "shock-absorbing" design -very quiet -easy to move/detach the magnetic holder -directing the flow much easier -powerful -possibility of pairing with the Hydor remote controller DISADVANTAGES -slightly larger than CP3 (although it is more powerful of course) -expensive Overall, I was more impressed with Hydor Koralia 3200. I guess Hydor simply patented their excellent design and wouldn't share it with competitors making their product stand out. The CP3 is a great and quality product but its design is simply no match to that of Hydor's.
