Worked perfectly while I was away!
I bought the Closer Pets C200 automatic feeder for my small dog before going on vacation since our caretaker could only come once a day. It worked perfectly! Both trays opened right on time, and my dog had no trouble eating from it. I didn’t use the ice pack since it doesn’t stay cold for a full 12 hours, but that wasn’t a big deal for me. The feeder is easy to set up, simple to clean, and the stainless steel bowls are a nice touch. Great little gadget for keeping your pet fed on schedule when you’re not home.

Reliable
I’ve been using CloserPets feeders for about four years now. My first one lasted around three years before one of the doors stopped opening, so I ended up replacing it. I’ve had a total of four now, and honestly, I still like them. A few tips from experience: I change out the batteries every three months and only use regular batteries, not rechargeable ones. Rechargeables might show a full charge, but I’ve found they don’t always hold up long enough or stay consistent. I use these feeders because I feed my cats wet food, they don’t really get kibble, and this helps me make sure they get their meals when I’m not home. They eat about three times a day, so this setup really helps when I’m working or out running errands. The ice block is decent, but it doesn’t stay cold as long as I’d like, especially since I live in the desert. Even with the AC on, it warms up pretty fast in the summer. In the winter months, it stays cooler longer. I actually find that gel-style ice packs work much better, and I wish the company would update their design to include something like that. There is some condensation buildup, I always wipe the unit down and let it air out after each use because I worry about mold. If you feed raw, I wouldn’t recommend this model. There are some feeders out there with built-in cooling systems (semi-conductors) that might be better for that, but even then, I’m not sure how safe they are long term. My cats eat homemade cooked food mixed with canned cat food, and this feeder works great for that. I did try another brand that had a cooling feature, it is solely electric with no battery backup. Once, while I was away working for 14 hours, we had a power outage and the feeder completely reset. My cats didn’t get their meals that whole day. Where I live, power outages happen sometimes from storms or high winds, so that was a dealbreaker for me. That’s actually what made me go back to using the CloserPets feeder, I like that it’s battery operated and reliable. One last thing: if you get a model that comes with a plastic feeding tray, I really recommend upgrading it to stainless steel. Even if the plastic is labeled BPA-free or pet safe, it can still cause cat acne or allergies. It’s just better to use stainless steel or ceramic dishes for your cats.

Nothing Fancy but Gets the Job Done
Been using this auto feeder for my cat for about 4 months now and it's great if you don't need it to open at a precise time. It will only open up "around" the time you need it to open, which is fine for my cat but may not be for your pet. For example: I set it to open in 7 hours at 7 am but it will sometimes open at 6:50 am and at other times, not until 7:20 am. You also can't set it in 30 minute increments. For example: You can set it for 7 hrs or 8 hrs but cannot set it for 7 1/2 hrs. Other set backs, if your cat isn't anywhere near the feeder, they will not hear it open. That's not a problem for my cat though, because she sleeps near her feeder, plus she knows around when it will open so she sits and waits for it. Additionally, I live in a very small place, and when it's very late at night and super quiet, I can hear the timer ticking. Some people may not be bothered by that but I don't like it. Another issue is with the ice pack (I have 2), they are made of what seems to be a good, strong, hard plastic, but sometimes they freeze weird and then they don't sit flat in the feeder. However, even when this happens, it still works and the bowls lay flat and you can close the feeder so not really a big problem. Also, it's battery operated so be sure to use a good battery brand and change them out regularly to ensure it will open when you are not home. Lastly, when not in use, you can't close the lids. Maybe there is a way to do so, but I can't remember now if it came with instructions and I just didn't read that part. But I just leave the tops open and when I travel with it, I just use a large rubber band to hold them down in place. Overall, for the price point, it's a pretty good feeder if you're not looking for anything fancy or complicated. It's basic, simplistic and gets the job done. * Forgot to mention, if you use wet food and plan to set the timer for more than just a couple hours or overnight, you can freeze the food first so it will stay fresher longer and not spoil.

Tamper proof and easy to set!
Exactly as pictured, came in the mail on time and works great! My cat learned how to turn the dial on his other feeder with his face but this one he cannot do that with so he actually eats at the proper time. We have to stick it to the floor with double sided tape so he can't push it around but the timer works great and is easy to set to the right time. Also love the stainless steel insert! So easy to clean! Great value for the money!

This is a super long review because I had to do ALOT of research before purchasing and I'm not from US so I paid USD 60 bucks for this, and well, I'm not rich. And I know alot of you can relate to at least that last part. So here it goes. Pros: - The only semi-affordable one on Amazon that came together with the stainless steel inserts + ice pack. (Plastic traps bacteria and can cause chin acne for your pet.) - Easy for everyday cleaning without having to dismantle the entire thing. - It serves it's purpose, hassle-free, and even continues to work in the event of an electricity blackout. - Easy to keep the food fresh. Even if you don't think the ice pack is enough, you can always put actual ice cubes / frozen bone broth in the food itself OR a thin layer of ice in the bowl and freeze it before you put wet food in it. - I'm not sure if they fixed the ticking sound but it's almost silent to me. Which is great. - Looks good in terms of durability and design. Like it's pretty sturdy and is cute. I think only super smart pets or rough pets will figure out how to open it or just break it. Cons: - I honestly can't trust it a 100% due to 2 reasons; a) Maybe 1 day it malfunctions and doesn't open, and b) There's no battery life indicator. So imagine after 5 to 10 uses, you think it's all good and reliable, but then you come home and see it didn't open because it malfunctioned or the battery's dead. So your pet didn't eat. Not good. In a perfect world, this thing should be rechargeable and the battery can last at least 2 days. That would be a dream come true. - The timer is not 100% accurate, I set it to 4 hours and it opened after 3 hours. It's not a big deal to me as long as the accuracy differs by a maximum of an hour, I'm good. - I wish it made a sound everytime it opens. I'm worried my cat will not see that his food is ready and will continue to sleep. Eventually this will disrupt his meal schedule. I've seen some reviews suggesting to tie a bell on the lid. Obviously I will do that, but that just seems like an extra step since it could've just come with a sound in the first place. Overall: I will have to work around the battery issue like for example the instruction manual recommended the Duracell MN1500 battery as it's supposed to last for 12 months, so I could just change the battery after 10 months to be safe. And maybe figure out a way to give him a heavier breakfast and dinner in case the thing malfunctions. Other than that, there are 2 takeaways here: 1. If you're like me, you don't wanna leave dry food out all day when you're not around and your goal is to be able to feed wet food according to a specific daily schedule (but you can't leave wet food out all day), this is the best budget friendly option in the market. BUT, I wouldn't recommend this as a permanent/long term solution. I would save up and invest in another option that allows me to control the machine remotely/wirelessly via an app, which means it opens when I tell it to open. Only then I wouldn't worry (unless the WiFi is out, which hardly ever happens.) Because ultimately the main goal is to be able to trust a machine to feed your pet the specific meal schedule that you have painstakingly planned for them. This feels like one of the products that meet that goal but on a very basic level. If budget is tight, save up and get a better one and just keep upgrading until you get the best one ever. Your furbabies deserve the best. 2. If you're not too anal about meal planning or you dont even feed wet food and you're using this for dry food, but want your pet to eat only at certain timings maybe for weight loss, prevent overeating or whatever your reason is, this is the best simple and no hassle option for you. So it all depends on your financial situation and what you truly want out of a machine. If money is not even an issue, what are you doing here?
