GREAT TOOL!
I love this cutter. I use it for fabric and paper. Easier to use than cutting mat and ruler. It doesn't slip. Like a hand held rotary cutter, it makes a precise cut. It's extremely light weight. It has an opening for easy carrying. I haven't changed the blade yet but it looks easy enough. It uses a standard 45 size cutting disk. Long cutting line. I can't see going back to a hand held cutter unless I'm cutting a curve. The price is very reasonable.

Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo is the only way to cut fabric!
Years ago I bought a Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo when I first started quilting and was really lousy at using a Rotary Cutter and Ruler to cut my fabric. Later I learned the secret to doing it successfully but I still used my Fiskars cutter so much that it finally broke and that took about 15 years. I'd heard that Fiskars had stopped making them and I was heartbroken. But whoever told me that was wrong because I found my favorite way to cut fabric on Amazon and bought it and I am back in business and loving it. When you use a regular ruler and rotary cutter you have to either walk around the mat to cut the fabric or if you don't have a small enough table you have to turn the mat or the fabric so you are cutting it the right way. One of the best things about the Fiskars Rotary Cutter is that you turn the cutter, not the fabric or mat. You never have to worry that you will goof up and have the cutter go off by itself and ruin your fabric because the cutter is built into the ruler and all you have to do is push down on the push handle over the cutter and slide it up the ruler and the cut is always perfect. The ruler never slides on the fabric because there is a some kind of rubberized or metallic strip underneath it that prevents this. This one has a carrying handle which I find very useful for hanging my ruler up so it doesn't get damaged. It has a standard 45 mm rotary blade that can be changed if you need to do it but since you are never whacking the blade into the ruler the chances of having to change the blade are pretty slim. I changed the blade on my old one once in all the years I used it and was horrified to find that the blade had been in it so long that it had rust on it! The ruler is longer than the the usual 24" one by a little more than 3 1/2 inches so you can position it on any mat easily. It is clear with black and white markings (not those hard to read yellow lines) and has every possible angle marked on it that you would ever use. It's 6 1/2 inches wide and the only drawback is that you can't cut anything smaller than 1 1/2 inches because the cutter gets in the way of cutting anything smaller than that. But that is the only drawback to using it. I brought my old one to one of my quilt guild sewing nights and one of my friends pretended she was going to steal it because it is so easy to use. Well, now she can buy one for herself! If you hate using a rotary cutter because you have never learned the secret to using it correctly then this is the product for you. By the way the secret is that you must start with your fingers on the ruler down by where you start the cutting (being careful that your fingers are not anywhere near the blade) and then walk your fingers up the ruler as you cut. It is easy if you watch someone do it, but why bother when you can use this wonderful cutter!

Big, Easy to Read Numbers on Dark or Light Background
This ruler is clear. The numbers, hash marks, and layout lines are BLACK, outlined in WHITE. And the numbers are BIG. That makes all the measurements visible whether you're work piece is dark or light color. I use this 24" model for sewing and embroidery. Great for a rotary cutter straight edge. This, and several smaller models, are in my drafting box as well. These rulers work great for not only sewing, but graphic art, carpentry, hanging pictures, just about anything that's flat. Pics show the ruler over several dark and light fabrics.

Works Well but Not Heavy Duty Enough for the Price
I’ve used this to cut acrylic felt so far and it’s working out okay. I do wish it had a heavier feel to it, and I’m worried that the clear plastic grid will end up breaking if it’s accidentally dropped or moved too harshly. I remember the old school guillotines in grade school for cutting and was hoping this could feel like a smaller and compact version of those, but definitely not. It is super lightweight though and easy to carry around. The blade is definitely sharp enough and has no issues cutting through my fabric.

Perfect sewing/quilting ruler!
I absolutely love using this quilting ruler! I had a smaller one that I purchased years ago, but it did not allow me to cut 42" wide fabric without moving it. It also was narrower and would slide. This ruler is the perfect width that it is stable for me to hold down and use my rotary cutter with it across 42" fabric that is folded. It has made my sewing/quilting much easier! I highly recommend it!

Works Well for Fabric
Funny story, I found this by the trash, but it didn’t have the cutter with it, so at first I was only using the ruler. I later learned it originally came with a cutter, and if I had known that, I would’ve looked around for it. Either way, I’m glad I picked it up because the ruler alone helped a lot. I eventually got the cutter, and it works really well on my fabric. It makes cutting quicker and more accurate. I cut a lot of strips and squares for quilting and for my doll clothes, beds, and accessories. This tool keeps everything neat and even. I’m really into using it now and reach for it often.

I use it to cut thick 3mm cardstock. After just a few passes, it cuts like dream. No drag, no shred. I love this thing. I love how safe I feel when using it. No worries about my knife jumping the straight edge and taking some thumb flesh clean off anymore (ask me how I know.) It's very lightweight but strong. Worth every penny!
