Great scale. I think the one Star review is because you need to first solve the puzzle of how to get the display out of the secret compartment in the back.Tip, use a screwdriver. You want to push down the two plastic tabs that are above the text "please open the cover to find the indicator" on the back. Push those tabs down towards the text / raised area and pry the little tabs out. Then the cover will release. No instructions were included so it was a bit of a challenge to figure out. Seems simple once you do it.Scale is 100% accurate.

It can do pounds & ounces, or decimal pounds (and kilos as well). If it's in a dusty or floury environment, I'd recommend running electrical tape around the edge of the lip it has to keep stuff/contaminants out. On battery power (cheapo alkalines) it ran for 3 months with about 2.5 hours usage/day. But that's with users turning it on and off as soon as done with it. Only accurate for 2 ounces or so, it's a deal compared to far more expensive scales.

this is mostly for shipping as it states; people getting on and off is risky, it slips and slides and pops up when unbalanced (like when stepping up on it)
