Good Product
Definitely a great investment for any kitchen. Good Size and has a solid, heavy feel and holds heat perfectly for even cooking.

Great skillet!!
While I use my Lodge cast iron skillets and griddle on the regular, I decided to give Field cast iron a try. I love my no. 8 skillet and only used it once! Nothing sticks-but the trick is using beef tallow or another fat. Although it did become a little discolored, I know with regular use and continued care, the color will even. While Field cast iron is pricey, it’s well worth it!!

Happy wife, happy life!!
Purchased this after wife reviewed other customer reviews and she truly likes everything about the pan, we have decided to start using cast iron pans for most the cooking, has even heat distribution, weight is good not heavy, sits flat on stove and does not wobble. Over all it works good and is a nice size for cooking.

Best pan ever
This is the best pan I’ve ever used. I followed instructions for first use and care and it has been fantastic. It is so much better than the nonstick pans that I’ve been using. I hope to slowly get the complete set

Disappointed in quality - coating coming off
I had high expectations for this skillet given its premium price and reputation. I followed all care instructions precisely—no soap, used salt and a chainlink scrubber, rinsed with water, dried immediately, and applied oil to maintain seasoning. Despite this, after just two uses, I noticed the coating on the side was scratched or flaking, and there was some discoloration, which I expected but figured it would even out over time. I have experience with other cast iron pans and had no issue. The discoloration is pictured.I cooked pork chops and found the heat distribution uneven, which seems to align with concerns mentioned in other reviews. I chose this pan because it’s made in the USA, lightweight, and had many positive reviews—but overall, I was disappointed in the quality and performance. I am promptly returning this pan.

I really like this pan!
So far this skillet is living up to all the hype. I use it every morning for breakfast, and occasionally for an evening meal. It performs like my 30-40 year old cast iron skillet I bought on auction 30 years ago. Upkeep has been simple: wipe clean after use, lightly buff with steel wool if something is stuck on, a teaspoon or less of canola oil wiped inside the pan and let it sit on the warm burner as it cools off. The oil must be brushed around the bottom and sides as this pan is flat--no domed center. Light enough to handle, but thick enough to cook without scorching as long as you control the heat.

This pan is 100% legit
I'm going to be honest. I have used Lodge for YEARS and sworn by the brand. But they really don't have a non stick surface. I have to use a lot of oil to keep things from sticking. So I really didn't believe cast iron could be non stick. I came into this very skeptically and thought I'm going to try this pan and I'm probably going to return it, but I've changed my mind. I've been using the crap out of this pan and I love it. I've made eggs and bacon. I even made some pasta Bolognese and now I've made cinnamon rolls in this pan. The non stick factor already surpasses my old Lodge. My cinnamon rolls slid out beautifully with no sticking (I used just a bit of butter to grease the pan) and they are so light and fluffy. The pan really is so much lighter weight than my old Lodge. This is a keeper.I reached out to customer service twice with questions and they respond FAST with thorough, detailed information. Very helpful.I've ordered a second smaller pan to complement. I really think if you give this pan a chance you will be happy you did. Follow their instructions on cleaning and seasoning, etc.

If you’re patient it will work.
I used this pan write out of the box, after a simple cleaning, to test the seasoning. After letting it warm up a bit, about 2 minutes, I added a little avocado oil and proceeded to fry two eggs. I kept the flame at a low level because the heat was being distributed pretty evenly and the pan was hot enough to cook the eggs. As I expected, there was some sticking. But I was pleasantly surprised when the middle portion of both eggs came off the pan very smoothly with a thin metal spatula. When I was done I let the pan cool way down and used my stainless steel “ring rag”, with some warm water to clean it out; then dried it off and put it back on the stove with a low flame to dissipate any remaining water or moisture before letting it cool off. After it cooled off, I wiped the pan down, in and around and on the top, with avocado oil. Everything there was covered, but with a very light coating before I put it away. For the past three days, I have seasoned the pan using avocado oil in the oven at 450 degrees for 1 hour; letting it cool down in the oven before removing it. When cooled down, I would coat another thin layer of the “A” oil and put it away. Cooked some eggs this morning; did my regular pre heating and oiling routine and the eggs just came right out with no effort. You just really need to be patient when using cast iron. This pan was my first attempt with a smooth finish cast iron pan. I’ve used the other very popular standard brand cast iron for a long time, and they work great, but not like this pan! I want to get more of these. More on that later. Now, a little bit of a negative review: The company’s website says it will respond to emails within 48 hours. I sent an email with a question regarding avocado oil, on July 31, and as of this review, have still not heard from them. And with no phone number available, email is all I’ve got. If this is an example of, or the norm for customer service, out of the blocks, I’m not very impressed. Which leads me back to my previous comment of wanting to get more of these. I especially don’t like the idea of companies not providing customer service with the old fashioned touch of a phone call. But when an email is my only means of communicating and having a first experience such as I have had; makes me hesitatant to make additional purchases.
