Does it work for black hair

Hi there! Hmmm, henna and black hair... It depends what you mean by “work”. Henna is a natural conditioner and a dye. Using it a conditioner, henna should make your hair soft and shiny, regardless of your natural hair colour. Using it as a dye, henna is most effective on light coloured hair, it will turn blonde or grey hair an orange-red shade. To be honest, if your hair is pure black or dark brown, using henna as a dye may create a warm red shine, but it’s unlikely to colour it a noticeable vivid orange-red. If you have grey hairs in amongst the black, henna can dye these individual hairs so they look like fine copper wire, and the rest of your hair will stay black. Whatever you do, be careful. As a dye, henna is semi-permanent, it takes a long time to either fade or wash out. If your hair isn’t naturally black, or you use chemical products to straighten or curl it, please please ask your hairdresser before trying something you’ve never used before. Hope that helps!
