A little on the pricey side but honestly completely worth the money! Comes with a very easy to use and mount dipole, extremely simple to set up even for beginners. When set up correctly has very good signal receiving quality. The USB itself is tiny but the dipole can get extended to whatever length needed (well, until you can't extend it anymore!). Build quality is really good and it functions amazingly; I haven't even used this with a standard SDR program yet, but my own Python script I have been writing for direction finding and signal analysis - works perfectly (as long as you have the correct drivers&libraries installed!). This is definitely something beginners can use as well as people more experienced too - highly recomend!

If you’re buying this then you probably know what you want but in a nutshell this single works well with almost all operating systems and SDR applications. I was impressed with the included accessories. Easy to set up. Good value for money. Stays fairly cool during operation with its metal casing. Good reception, better than my handheld scanner in the same location.

Working exactly as expected. Using on Intel iMAC with SDR++ for general scanning, listening on air traffic, amateur radio, LW & MW. Using Guglielmo App for DAB radio and just starting with Satdump App for weather Data reception and more. All mentioned apps downloadable without need to compile so very easy to setup. No driver install required with mentioned macOS apps. If you want to get into SDR, the RTL-SDR Blog V4 is the very best way to start.

I am not quite sure how to rate this device. It certainly seems excellent value for the money, but, having said that, I think I would recommend the casual listener to just buy a radio! Firstly, the installation is not automatic. You must go to their website and read the starter guide, and download a driver. This is not a simple installation. It requires you to find an run an application that will replace/install a new driver for a USB device you have to search for. Not at all plug and play! Having said that, it's not THAT difficult, but it will end in some people sending the dongle back. I was very disappointed with the total lack of channels. Compared to many years ago, there is almost nothing now. And even the channels that do exist, most of them seem to be off most of the time. Certainly, the idea of an SDR radio is fantastic. I am just not sure that we haven't missed the "golden era" of radio. Recommended because it's a great product, but you may be disappointed in what you can pick up.

Ref RTL-SDR V4 Dongle. Purchased mine with the antenna. Only the dongle was delivered!!!. Amazon say they will refund me so I was happy with that, and re ordered the antenna. Wish I hadn't have bothered now. ADVICE "Don't but one of these if you are not super human, and know how to manage dll files and stuff". So far 12+ hours of trying to get drivers for this V4 version, on 3 different PC'S, running Windows 8, Windows 10, and one with Windows 11 proved absolutely pointless thus far. A friend who has a "degree" in computers and works with them, gave up and wanted to lob mine out the window. Only one PC recognise the dongle but wont work. Cannot locate drivers online you go around in circles. If you follow the www link on the unit case, on how to install these you just go around (and around) in circles!!!!! Cannot find any links for the drivers, let alone work out how get it up and running. REALLY annoying!! Tried mine on 5 ( yes five) different software's we downloaded and NOTHING happens. Either this is a dud one, or (as I now suspect looking at reviews) these V4 one's are a NIGHTMARE to get to work. If you think these are a simple plug and play..."you got a nasty shock coming". Constantly tells you "dll file, this that or the other is missing", or you need this or that downloaded to get to work. On a serious note...if a Computer person I know, with a degree was baffled by this, then most won't stand a chance with one. NO instructions with the device, and MINE showed signs of being tampered with? The sma antenna socket locking nut was loose, and a screw missing from one of the end plates on the metal case. If you can put up watching so called "know it all's" on Youtube and their endless, and constant annoying ADDS every 30 seconds, and have lots of time to spare, you might eventually get an idea, but I "really have my doubts" about these people, and recon the reviews praising these youtubers are probably not legit ones. My friend agrees with me there. My advice is therefore...get a Version 3. I am told they are a bit easier to set up, but still not easy. Or, save your money and do a university course on PC's as you might well need it!!! Correction you WILL need a degree (of patience as well) If anyone even knows where the drivers alone for these V4 's are to ne found, to even just get started, I would love to know.

ラズパイでADSBの受信を無事行えました。 V4は新しくてドライバの設定に手こずりました。 普通にインストールすると旧ドライバーが悪さをするのでご注意ください。 （エラーが無く一見動作している様に見えますが全く受信しません） 受信しない場合は、旧ドライバーを削除もしくは上書きして使いましょう。

Ottimo SDR. Funziona benissimo con android tramite app facilmente reperibili sul playstore. Ricevo i dati di volo degli aerei in transito nell'arco dei 150 - 200 km. Ricevo le radio commerciali nonchè un'ampia gamma di radiofrequenze. La qualità e quantità dei segnali ricevuti dipende molto dall'antenna a cui si collega. A volte riscalda un po' troppo.

Den lilla mottagaren fungerar och var inte allt för svår att installera på min laptop med Windows 10. Man behöver dock ha programvara för att kunna packa upp .zip fil. Jag har inte hunnit kolla alla frekvensband men det gick bra att lyssna på VHF AM flygradio och FM rundradio musik och nyheter.

I really like this radio. The software is very buggy but it's free and it just works. I had a problem on a mini PC with Bluetooth stopped working and had to reinstall WIndows 11. Not a problem with the dongle just a driver issue. There are no clear instructions on how to make this work. A few youtube videos but overall this is the best value for anyone interested in HAM Radio, I also use it for FM radio in my home office.
