Excellent quality, good for beginners
The recipe book this kit comes with is water proof, which is better than all the other recipes books I have. I was able to make a few rolls of sushi by following the provided directions. The only complaints I have about the recipe book is some things are unclear, and the ingredient ratio for the sushi seasoning mix is off. What is Part D supposed to mean? I think you'd be better off using pre-seasoned rice vinegar. I do like how there are generic instructions for each type of food since you can put pretty much anything into sushi or onigiriπ.The molds make it easy to shape sticky rice into a triangle or block. They're good enough for what I need. The rice cooker is simple to use. Push the lever down and it cooks the rice, then the lever pops up when it's done. Make sure you unplug it when you're not using it though. If you have a rice cooker already, you should probably get a less expensive kit.The bazooka is easy to use, just don't apply so much pressure that the lid comes off the other side and rice spills out or you'll have a smaller sushi roll. The sushi molds are good, but not as easy to use as the bazooka. But it takes longer to use the bazooka. With the two methods, you can probably make 3 rolls in 2 hours. The rolling mat is simple to use to put seaweed on the sushi roll made with the bazooka. I haven't yet tried using it to wrap a sushi roll traditional style. The knife is good so far. It cuts the rolls i made fairly well. One major criticism I have is the kit doesn't include care instructions. What parts are dishwasher safe, and what parts need to be cleaned by hand? I would take half a star off for this if I could. The rice balls shaker is good, but it makes tiny rice balls. I only use it with leftover unseasoned sticky rice. There are other things in the kit for serving the sushi and rice balls. They're optional to use.I would recommend getting a drawer to put all the stuff in. There are a lot of pieces!
