Absolutely perfect! Real leather.

This is a very nice little notebook / journal. It's soft real leather, maybe a light protective coating on top, but no book support on the back or front cover, so know what you're getting before ordering if you're hoping to take a lot of notes standing or without any kind of solid surface support beneath it. Pros: - Real Leather. It's only finished one side, meaning the outside has a smooth surface, the interior has an nubuck style soft leather feel. In black, this will age quite well. In one of the other colours, make note that natural oils will give it a patina changing the colour over time. Which usually looks awesome! - Binder clip. Awesome. I've had expensive full sized leather binders with awful binder ring systems and the Axewoodz is not part of that group. This tiny little 5 ring binder clip is solid, no misaligned rings and very light rattle when shaken. Very solid open and close. - Paper quality. Surprisingly good paper quality! Split half with squared paper and half with dotted, the thickness stock feels very good to write on. Cons: - Real leather. Both a pro and a con, the con here is if your pen has a metal or very tight pocket clip on it and, like me, you want to stick your pen in the journal, it can very easily leave a mark. However, if you're buying a real leather notebook, embrace the imperfection-- the leather will age, oil, get scruffs and marks and in time you'll have a beautiful rustic/distinguished notebook. Overall: - I'd say this is a very ideal notebook to keep in your pocket (if you have big enough pockets), because its soft leather, it'll squeeze a little easier in to tight places. Love the real leather, love the quality of the paper and love the binder clamp.

I work on-call as office support. I always carry a notebook with me to take on jobs. This is a good quality spiral ring binder with refillable paper. The small size makes it convenient to carry. I like that the book lays flat when opened. The size is A8 (4.8” x 3.46” x .79”). It has a snap closure and the black leather cover makes it look professional and durable. I wish an extra batch of refillable paper was included or available for purchase.
