Koss x Retrospekt P/21 Retro On-Ear Headphones, Retro Orange Foam, Adjustable Headband, Wired 3.5mm Plug, Orange Black and Silver

Bought these "elsewhere" as these have only become available on Amazon UK from March 2025. Had been after a pair of light, small headphones for walks out etc for some time, as I always find the performance of "wireless / bluetooth" headphones disappointing, regardless of price. Thought I'd take a chance at £24 as loved the retro look also. Had these a couple of months now and couldn't be more pleased !! Even without any eq'ing via my phone, these sound great - crisp and dynamic and just completely "musical" without being boring hi-fi analytical or swamped with bass. They "really" sing when applying even a small amount of EQ - punchy, alive, dynamic with a big wide stereo soundstage - don't expect ear-splitting volume or bass that makes your chest vibrate .... but for someone who has a fairly pricey home setup and being a musician, music is a massive thing for me - these little Koss' are simply SUPERB - I would happily of paid 4 or 5 times the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

Love the retro look of the headphones I didn't expect the sound the be amazing but it's okay. One design flaw is your hair gets caught in the adjustable headband very easily.

The sound quality is very good, even if the frequency range spec says 30-17,000Hz. Light weight and comfortable. Yes, others can hear what you are listening to, like in the 80's. Best Sony's style 70's headphones I can find today. Bought this to match my newly purhcased cassette tape walkman.

I bought them for the looks hoping they sound as good as porta pro or kph40 but nah these are worse in sound.

These are Koss Retrospekt headphones and they are crucial for full Eighties nerdiness. I won’t go into the long, fairly harrowing story of how they got here, but if you want a pair it’s quickest to order them from the USA on Amazon.com (as opposed to .co.uk). The best sound quality version of these are the KPH40 but they have black ear pads, although orange ones can be bought separately, and a black headband. I had black earpads in the actual Eighties so they’re not wrong but I wanted the brushed steel headband and the orange pads. They have no microphone or volume control as headphones with these functions, such as my Bang & Olufsens, will only play in one ear when plugged into a Walkman unless the jack plug is slightly pulled out. Something about three lines vs two lines on the jack pin. But I’m just nerding aloud. Suffice to say, they are light as a feather to wear, far better quality headphones than they look and the listening experience is 100% authentic to the time, right down to the noise leak that would drive people on the bus to distraction 😎
