For more than 10 years, I carried a Leatherman Micra with me. It was one of the most useful and durable tools I have ever owned. I used it almost every day for something. But then one day I lost it. I have no idea where it went, but I needed a replacement. So I went to order a new one and discovered that the price has DOUBLED since I bought mine! Mine was originally $25, but now the Micra sells for $50. That’s really crazy. I understand inflation and all, but $50? I would have understood if it was selling for $30 or $35 after all of these years, but that was too much. So I started looking elsewhere to see if I could find any small multitool that would be a worthy replacement for my beloved Micra. I looked at every multitool on the market. It’s really hard to find any tool this size that has good scissors. Since the scissors were the main part of the Micra that I used, that was the most important feature to me. After much research, I finally came across the Mini Sailor Scissors from NexTool. Since I received it, I have been quite happy with this tool. It is slightly larger than the Micra, but not enough to be noticeable unless you have them side by side. The scissors work great, and I’m also very happy with the quality of the knife, bottle opener, and screwdrivers. Those were the main features of the Micra that I used. The best part is the price. This tool sells for half the price of the Micra, although it’s just as good in almost every respect. The only feature it doesn’t have that the Micra did that I miss are the tweezers, but for half the price I can live without that part. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a quality multitool that includes scissors.

The NexTool Keychain Multitool (Mini Sailor Scissors, 10-in-1)is a compact, versatile tool designed to offer a range of functions while being small enough to fit on a keychain. Here's an in-depth look at its features, pros, and potential drawbacks: ### Key Features: - **10-in-1 Functionality**: Despite its small size, the multitool packs 10 different functions, including: - Mini sailor scissors - Screwdrivers - Bottle opener - Wire stripper - Pry tool - File - Tweezers - Nail cleaner, and more - **Mini Sailor Scissors**: The standout feature is the precision scissors, which are useful for cutting small items like threads, paper, or packaging. The scissors fold neatly into the tool for easy storage. - **Keychain Size**: As a keychain multitool, it’s designed for portability. Its compact size makes it easy to carry on your keys, in a pocket, or in a small bag without adding bulk. - **Durability**: Made from stainless steel, it’s built for durability and should hold up well under typical everyday use. ### Benefits: - **Convenience**: The NexTool’s small size and range of tools make it an ideal everyday carry (EDC) accessory for quick fixes or small tasks on the go. - **Multi-Purpose**: With 10 tools in one, it’s versatile enough to handle common tasks like tightening screws, opening bottles, cutting, and filing, making it useful in a variety of situations. - **Portable**: Its compact size is a huge advantage. Unlike bulkier multitools, this can be easily attached to a keychain or carried in a pocket without hassle. - **Affordable**: Compared to larger multitools, this keychain version is often priced reasonably, providing good value for the functionality it offers. ### Potential Drawbacks: - **Size Limitations**: While its compactness is convenient, some users may find the small size difficult to use for more demanding tasks. The tools are better suited for light-duty jobs rather than heavy-duty repairs. - **Scissor Strength**: The mini sailor scissors are functional but may struggle with cutting tougher materials. They're best used for lightweight cutting needs like paper or thread. - **Limited Tool Length**: Tools like screwdrivers and prying implements are quite short, which could make them less effective for certain tasks that require more reach or leverage. ### Overall Verdict: The **NexTool Keychain Multitool** is a highly portable and convenient tool that provides basic functionality in a compact design. It’s great for those who want a lightweight, everyday carry option without the bulk of larger multitools. While it may not be suited for heavy-duty tasks, it's perfect for light, everyday fixes and offers excellent value for those who appreciate practicality in a small package.

I was looking for a mini tool which would fit in the coin pocket of jeans and had scissors, blade, and screwdriver heads. I got this Nextool which fit the description. I frequently have to open things at work including boxes, and plastic bags, and heavy 50lb paper bags of different types. I no longer wanted a knife that sat down in the bottom of my pocket because it’s wearing a mark in all my jeans. The flathead screwdriver does a great job of opening boxes for me. People think you need a sharp blade to open a taped cardboard box. This isn't the case - a flat screwdriver will do just fine. You won't risk cutting yourself or somebody else, or the contents inside. All you need is the corner of a flathead to break the tape. And honestly, I thought I would be using the scissors more to open some of the bags that I have to open. The scissors are pretty good. They work well for light duties. But the blade is so pointed and sharp that it pierces and slices the tops of bags with ease. The blade came already extremely sharp, and I have only needed to touch it up once after several weeks of use. I have not gotten a chance to use the mini pliers, but they are definitely a nice addition. The only change I would like to see is some brighter colored handle options instead of black so they don’t blend in with everything else.

I bought these because of the positive reviews on the great scissors. I needed a small but robust pair of scissors for pocket carry and I am very pleased with these. They are large and sharp enough to handle most EDC tasks and I use them often. Great for opening all the “childproof” blister packs of meds these days. The knife blade has uneven bevels but I was still able to put a “hair-shaving” sharp edge on it. The scissors and knife blade are primarily the only tools I use much. The file is mediocre at best, but still functional. I love the compact size of this pocket-carry multi-tool! But the scissors are the real gem of this little package!

Got this to replace a Gerber Dime. While it's not an exact replacement with the scissors being the primary tool and the pliers a secondary tool I am very pleased with this tool. The scissors is excellent, cuts paper and zip-ties really well. The pliers is small but rugged. Knife holds its edge much better than the Dime. It is slightly larger than the Dime. I went through 3 Dimes, all broke.
