Where do I begin ...
I love serial killers and I have worked with criminals for many years. However, this book was next level! In the end, I loved the story of Cain and Kirby however, this book was so graphic I was actually shocked by what I was reading. Brooklyn Cross is a fantastic writer and the fact that she made me feel for these twisted men speaks volumes. But, you cannot read this book if you have a weak stomach or if you are truly afraid of serial killers and criminals. But if yiou aren't ... enjoy!

While not required it is recommended to read this then it's followed by Twisted Abel by TL Hodel𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:Cain and his identical twin brother, Abel, are serial killers that have continued to get away with their 'activities' for years because no-one knows they have a twin... solid alibi anyone? Cain is the more meticulous and controlled out of the two, always keeping a tight leash on Abel, who is his total opposite. Cain has a thing for eyes, collecting all shades... and yes, its exactly what your thinking... well after a happenstance drive by, Cain catches the eye of a women with eyes that are the most exquisite he's ever seen. It doesn't take much form him to find out who they belong to and so starts his obsession... however deranged it may be.Kirby is only in the FBI training program because her mother has threatened to cut her off completely if she doesn't complete the program. While from the outside her life seems like a dream, Kirby only feels stuck. Stuck suffering through classes she doesn't want to take, stuck in a relationship that is less than stellar and on the brinks of ending. Then she catches the eye of a stranger, and that stranger sparks all kinds of different feelings, darker feelings, she's afraid to acknowledge. But Cain will make her bring out all that darkness one way or the other.I'm sorry.. moral compass who? Nah, we don't know them. If I could label this in three words or less it would be: dark. depraved. detailed. This book is not for the faint of heart. I was drawn in from the very beginning and I could not put this down. Cain was all for what I'm going to describe as 'coerced consent' from his victims. He's going to make you say/think you want it first. Abel didn't give a flying eff either way... so if noncon is something you're not okay with... steer clear. The warnings are there for a reason and the author wasn't kidding.Who knew the psychopath could have feelings...? Well Cain definitely didn't. I really enjoyed him questioning 'what was happening to him. What are these feelings.' I liked Kirby's character too. I felt bad for things going on in her life, but the likeness Cain saw in her was obviously there for a reason. Now Kirby's mother and ex.. I wanted to throat punch so bad! The end of this was epic and well deserved. I really liked the POV chapters from another certain character in the book, just sprinkled here and there to give you a little extra insight. My heart hurt a bit for Abel at the end of this but I'll be diving right in to get more of his demented self. This is the book you question why you liked it, but yet you did, very much...and whatever that says about me well so be it... I'm here for it.𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬:No one intrigued me. I’d seen millions of faces with eyes of all colors, and none came close to the level of fascination I was experiencing.Of course, I’d be attracted to a serial killer. That was certainly my luck and in line with my life’s trajectory. How was it you could concurrently want nothing to do with someone and want them to promise you the world and never leave you?

Great book 👍🏻
Warning ⚠️: Be aware of the triggers before reading.Cain and his brother r4p3, t0rtur3 and k11L women for fun and pleasure. kirby is stuck in life, with an overbearing mother who doesn't care about her but still dictates everything in her life including her boyfriend and career path. Everything changes when she becomes their next victim. Meeting Cain awakes something inside her, something she didn't even know was there.I was wary about how the story would develop with such a dark context. I personally loved the book, it's twisted but written beautifully, even though I feel like it made Abel dirty, his plot needed to be explored more, like the brothers relationship development once Kirby was there should have been the focus and not Margaret/peter. Anyway, this is my first book by the author and won't be the last.

Psychotic Cain🤣💫
Cain's parents had already sealed his fate by choosing his name. I mean come on. Are y’all not familiar with the story of “Cain and Abel” ? Cain is a EFFed up human being. He is abysmally evil and doesn't care about anything or anyone. And he’s also a clinically diagnosed psychopath. What makes him even more dangerous is his charming nature. He is a predator, a sadist who enjoys watching his prey suffer. His character is magnetic. He is seductive, provocative, sexy...and the devil in person. If you were to cross paths with him, not even Godspeed would ensure your safety. This book is disturbing. And I LOVE it 🫣 The storyline is brilliant. I did lose patience a few times cause I wanted Cain and Kirby to meet sooner. But it all made sense when it finally happened. Why am I sad that Abel and Cain’s relationship shifted towards the end ? I shouldn't even sympathize with him in the first place. Both of them MF’s are crazy🤣 I really NEED to read Abel’s book next. And I can’t stress this enough, but please READ the TW’s before starting this book…It’s darker than dark.

One of my favourite reads of 2022
Unhinged is one word to describe this book. This is the darkest book I’ve read and my mind was blown, I started off reading thinking how on earth was I supposed to fall for Cain, when he is EVIL. and I did fall. I was on tender-hooks the entire time. It’s an incredible story that is so messed up and really tests your limits. The last third definitely solidified to me that I was obsessed with this man. I loved Kirby too, our unsuspecting heroine who had her entire life controlled by others, doing everything to please them whilst living without existing, it’s ironic that she found that captured by Cain.I absolutely need to talk about the twin dynamic here. Cain and Abel.. our sick boys. Are a team. Abel is the hyperactive, insane, actions first think later counterpart to Cains methodological, obsessive compulsive self and Christ it works. Cain is evil but Christ Abel is worse. We get to explore their childhood and the ascension into what they do and how it started off. It’s such a brilliant, brilliant book and definitely one of my favourites of the year, if not my absolute favourite.Abel has his own story following on from this one called Twisted Abel.
