Awesome pair of lineman pliers
These klein lineman pliers are the premier and premium set of lineman you can get. Klein is renowned for thier quality and best engineered tools. Although they are not invincible. I got my first pair when I got the entire klein journeyman set in 2019. Unfortunately Unfortunately after just 3 years they are no longer serviceable. This fault is all on me. Cranking down as hard as I can while cutting 7 12awg wires twisted together and using them as a full blown hammer has bent the center pin, causing wobble and cutter overlap. Despite the over abuse these lineman pliers did 3 32 floor plus skyscrapers and a hotel amusement park resort. This is the set you see in the pictures. You can see the damage done to the cutters by cutting pretty much every thing i needed too with them I have this new set, thanks to amazon and the klein lifetime warranty. There are noticeable changes from the first pair I had. The tape pullers are re-engineered and the crimper has a new small lug to use on smaller terminals. So let get this out the way, after working around several 15 plus year electricians I've learned the best set of lineman pliers are the closest set. It's not the tool but the electrician. I've watched those ppl grab a set of lineman from just about every manufacturer out there and they're work always comes out perfect. So it's really all about preference. There are lots of reason to get klein brand lineman pliers. When I got these yesterday it took 10 minutes to break in correctly. Then I did the light test with the cutters and jaws. No light came through the cutters and an even space in the jaws. I did the grip test next. Tied off 4 12awg wires, then gripped the wires with the jaws only. With someone standing behind me, I leaned back holding myself up only by the grip of the jaws to hold me up. I did not fall back. After that i hooked my fish tape up to my fence and used the tape pullers to pull myself down the driveway while standing on my skateboard. They worked great, no real hang ups, except with the occasional twist in the fish tape. The action was smooth. Next I did the let's see what they can do test. I took 3 12awg wire and used them to make a proper joint using nothing but the lineman pliers. They stripped, twisted and cut a perfect joint. There was very little flattening at the cut, I didn't even have to round it back out to get a red wire nut effortlessly on. The used the jaws to finish tightening the wire nut. As expected they were perfect. The hand grips are wonderful. They are paddle grips but with a round outer grip. They're both paddle and round handle all at once. When you cut 4 12awg wires you don't feel the snap in the handles. I took them to work today. I put away my j215s and use these to wire up office lights with 12/2 MC. They performed perfectly today, I couldn't be happier with them. The only disadvantage I see is the price. When I bought these in 2019 they were just 45 dollars. Today they cost 70 dollars here. In comparison that makes them just as expensive as the knipex equivalent but 2 times expensive as the Ideal tools equivalent. I own the Ideal equivalent model 30 34 30. Except for the handles they're both very much alike in craftsmanship and quality and engineering. I do very much recommend these lineman pliers. I also recommend a set of cable cutters to cut thicker items. Be warned from experience never crank down on your lineman pliers. You'll bend the pin and that will be the end of them. There will be no need to update this review due to the 3 years experience with my first set. Durability is outstanding product is outstanding warranty works enough said. Just get em

Flawless tool
These are flawless. I have owned 4 pairs of Klein lineman’s pliers and all 4 have been flawless and never broke even under hard use. Put WD-40 on them and they will open and close fully by gravity alone. The only reason I have bought more than one is due to losing a pair, giving one away, and blowing one up by cutting live wires- and even then, the only damage was a slight dulling of the blades that made cutting string and stranded wire annoying.

Electrician’s favorite
Great product, I always buy these for work in the commercial electrical industry. I’ve been in the industry for 8 years and only bought a new pair because I blew the last ones up lol. I would say these can easily last 10 years or more if you take care of them!

Best pliers
I find these are the best pliers on the market. Being the Journeyman 2000 series I've cut lots of screws, bolts, and even forced and wiggled my way through threaded rod and these pliers still show no damage on the blades after 5+ years of use. I love the big thick plastic handles. They are very comfy, don't slip off, and don't wear. Unlike all the other guys who have vinyl dipped handles that wear and get rips, tears, and holes in the vinyl, my Journeyman series pliers have no wear on the handles. And I love the model with the fish tape pullers. If your going to have any feature on a pair of pliers it better be fish tape pullers. In my opinion a pair of pliers is useless unless it has fish tape pullers. You can get a seperate tool for crimping or stripping, but you can't get a seperate tool for pulling fish tape so it better be built into your pliers or they don't belong on my jobsite. Very nice pliers. I bought mine over 5 years ago and the handles slipped off. I put a single wrap of electrical tape around the handle and slid the handles back on. I think I would have to cut the handles off now if I wanted to remove them. But I noticed that co workers who recently purchased Kleins with these handles don't have the problem with them slipping, so Klein must of fixed the problem. Also note that Greenlee recently started selling hand tools and their pliers are very similiar to the Klein Journeyman series. But I've used them and hate them. They are hudge and massive with extra thick handles. They are very uncomfortable and just not the same fit and finish as Kleins. Many guys on the worksite don't like the Journeyman series because of the thick handles. They prefer the good old Kleins or a pair of Ideals so make sure you are comfortable with the padded handles. Personally I love them and recommend nothing but the Journeyman 2000 series to everyone.

Klein J2000-9NE Lineman Pliers
These are well buil pliers, they are heavy duty and cut wire, nails and deck screws with little effort. The comfort grip handles absorb the shock of cutting heavy/strong stock. Although they only fit into my electrician’s tool pouch up to the handle the weight of the tool and the size keep them secure. It just doesn’t get any better than this. Tom

Reliable and comfortable to use
Talk to an electrician and you will often find that they are partial to a particular brand of lineman's pliers. Some swear by Klein, others by Channellock or Knipex etc. I am not a professional electrician but have rewired my entire house, performed work on several others and wired an addition. I have also done a fair amount of electrical work under an electrician for various jobs. My first set of pliers I lost, so when I needed a new one I decided to use the same brand I had before but figured I'd try the journeyman 2000 series with the enhanced grips this time. They are comfortable and cut wire nicely. I almost never use them to cut anything but copper wire. Sure I have cut a few nails on occasion but I have a different tool for that and prefer to use my lineman's only for copper so that they will last and last. I can't really say if Channellock or Knipex make better lineman's or not but they are also quality brands so it might just be up to personal preference. I don't think you can go too wrong with any of those brands. What I can tell you however is that I personally have been pleased with Klein pliers in the past and these appear to be no different.

Works as should, feels great in the hand
Great pliers, cuts good, grips great, feels great in the hand (my size #8/9 glove). 2 issues, not major but QC at Klein, they are; There was a bur on the crimper (knocked off with a file), and the cutters have a small gap toward the front of the pliers, the small gap doesn't seem to affect the cutting ability and will probably come together after a small amount of use or break in. Not to tight nor sloppy.....Just right.
