Nice obd2 reader.
This obd2 reader worked great on my 2021 Ram Cummins 2500. I used it to monitor all my sensors while pulling heavy loads. Always had a great connection easy to use. Not too bulky and stayed out of the way. Not sure which one would have been better, the wifi or Bluetooth. Either way, it worked as intended.

Works like a charm!
I bought this because I was too lazy to take my car to autozone after a check engine light was coming on and off for a week. This product was very easy to use and the instruction booklet was straightfoward. I love that I can both scan codes and reset codes right from my phone! My only complaint is that it uses WiFi rather than Bluetooth, but that's a pretty minor complaint. You will also need a 3rd party app in order to receive data from the reader. I downloaded OBD Fusion. This reader is specifically compatible with iOS, make sure you have an iPhone or something! If anyone is having trouble, follow these steps: 1. Plug reader into OBD2 port 2. Turn car to "ON" but do not turn it over! Engine should not be running. 3. Go to wifi settings on your iPhone/iPad/Mac and find the OBDII network. 4. Connect to the network, more details and troubleshooting can be found in booklet 5. Go to the app you installed and run a scan for codes! And if anyone was wondering, my check engine light was due to advanced timing somewhere in the engine. After researching, I discovered it was because I had forgotten to get an oil change for far too long. Oops :( at least it was a cheap and easy fix. If I had taken it to the dealer I have no doubts they would have sold me a ton of stuff I didn't need.

Fantastic, with one caveat.
This product works as advertised. It plugs in, connects quick, and makes life much easier. Its a good price and i have 0 complaints about the product. So, what's the catch? Simple: this product does NOT come with an App. You have to download one separately. If you use android, no problem. There a couple free, fantastic, ones. If you are on Apple/IOS? You're going to have to pay a few extra dollars to get a good app. I read this and thought it would not be an issue, they seemed cheap enough and had free trials. However... the quality of cheap apps are poor at best. If i had known this, i may have bought a different, more expensive, product that comes with software - given that I'm on apple And the cheapest Software runs around 12$, and you probably wont get much from it. Having to invest around 25$ for actual work. Making the total cost of this tool for me around 50$. If that sounds reasonable then you found your scanner! Again, works like a charm. Updates quick. Reads thousands of codes and has worked in every vehicle i put it in - no issues.

Great tool, especially for the price!
Save a trip to the local store or mechanic, round up an unused tablet & have at it! You could also just use a smartphone. This one is really handy because there's no mechanical switch to flip or buttons to push to change modes, the software can do it for you. It's plug in, download an app, connect via wifi & go. A tablet is probably better if you're using this for a gauge cluster or recording diagnostic runs, just due to the larger screen. This worked fine on my iPhone as a code reader & clearing said codes. A sweet bonus to this one, with the correct app, it could read some of the subsystems! I know they don't advertise this, but it works great with ForScan. Anything Ford/Lincoln/Mercury & Forscan will let you connect to things like the BCM (body control module), which is where other error codes can be stored & give you more info as to what is going on. Only drawback is there might be some vehicles that this can be a tight fit, my truck covers the status lights. I'll probably pick up a short extension cable for mine.

Performance, Value, and Follow-Up is a Great Combination
The reader powered up in my 2007 4Runner, connected to the OBD Fusion app without issue, and provided the data needed. So far it's doing exactly what I expected. It's very handy for instances where you're interested in specific information, for example on a recent off-road trail run featuring sustained climbs on a rocky, muddy track where I monitored my transmission fluid temperature. (FYI to 4th Gen 4Runner owners, it stayed well within a safe range, the highest reading being around 198F. My truck is stock.) It's important to know that this device draws current all the time, meaning it will eventually drain your vehicle battery if 1) it's left installed and 2) you don't drive your vehicle for some time (the period will vary based on the level your battery is charged to, its age, and so on). Read and understand that part of the instructions to avoid a dead battery. I feel the company's follow-up message is also worth mentioning. I get that part of it is to get people to write reviews, but it was still nice to receive a message emphasizing their commitment to customer service and the warranty, and encouraging contact if the customer has any issues or questions. I've had no need to test that commitment but feel more confident because they reach out to customers that way. On the OBD Fusion app, I purchased the advanced diagnostics package for Toyota vehicles and the reader delivered the information flawlessly.

Works well with my iPhone through wifi. Supports a lot of protocols. Still exploring but I like the build quality and seems to work well.

In the ever-evolving landscape of mobile auto detailing, incorporating technology that streamlines our operations and enhances our service offerings is crucial. That's where my journey with the BAFX Products Wireless WiFi (OBDII) OBD2 Code Reader & Scan Tool began. This tool promised to be a game-changer by providing a wireless method to diagnose and understand check engine lights and other vehicle issues directly from our smartphones. While it has undoubtedly added value to our services, the journey has been a mix of smooth rides and bumpy roads. The initial appeal of the BAFX Products OBD2 Code Reader was its promise of easy connectivity and the ability to quickly diagnose vehicle issues without the need for bulky, traditional diagnostic tools. The setup process, involving connecting the device to our mobile phones via WiFi, was straightforward in theory. However, in practice, it required a bit more patience and troubleshooting than anticipated, especially when ensuring a stable connection across different vehicle makes and models. Once connected, the device's performance varied. When it worked, it was incredibly efficient, providing us with real-time data and error codes that could easily be looked up through its accompanying app. This functionality allowed us to offer our clients an added layer of service—identifying potential issues before they became major problems, which was highly appreciated. However, the device's compatibility was not as universal as we had hoped. While it functioned seamlessly with a wide range of vehicles, there were occasional instances where it struggled to connect or provide accurate data for certain car models. This inconsistency was a source of frustration, both for our team and for clients who had high expectations based on our service descriptions. The BAFX Products OBD2 Code Reader shines in its design and portability. Its compact size made it an ideal tool for our mobile setup, easily transitioning between different work environments. Additionally, the customer service provided by BAFX Products was commendable, offering support and guidance when we encountered issues with the device. Sharing our experiences with this OBD2 code reader through social media and our service channels has elicited mixed reactions. Many clients and followers were intrigued by the technological integration into our detailing services, while some shared their own stories of compatibility and connectivity challenges. In conclusion, the BAFX Products Wireless OBD2 Code Reader & Scan Tool has proven to be a valuable, albeit sometimes challenging, addition to our mobile auto detailing toolkit. Its potential to enhance our services by providing quick diagnostics is undeniable, but the device's performance inconsistencies require a willingness to navigate potential hurdles. For fellow auto detailing professionals considering this tool, I recommend it with the caveat of being prepared for a learning curve and occasional troubleshooting. Despite its flaws, when it works, it truly elevates the service we can provide to our clients.
