Ateco Straight Spatula with 8-Inch Stainless Steel Blade, Wood Handle

I use to own a similar tool years ago & would frequently wished I had it. This is a great replacement! I've only had it for a few weeks, but have used it many times. I made pies from scratch for Thanksgiving & this spatula made it so much easier to loosen the rolled-out dough & help lift it onto pie plates. Great size for lifting smaller cookies off the pan or lifting smaller cuts of cake, etc. It is more versatile in the kitchen than a butter knife for things like loosening the edges of a cake from the sides of a pan & then using it to serve pieces. An all-around great kitchen item. I never soak the handle in water & keep the wooden handle oiled periodically as I do with all my wooden cutting boards, bowls, handles, etc. to keep them from cracking or drying out. Very well made product that will last for years.

I bought the one that you screw the lid on & crank to mix, but the lid didn’t fit & it was a disaster. This is much better, & it’s a great spatula to boot.

I do not use for icing as I don’t make cakes. Rather I use to get ghee out of big jar, etc. I had been using the same spatula my mom had (meaning it is VERY old) and the wooden handle was beginning to give way. I looked at stores and the ones I saw were not straight which I prefer. I had ordered another one through Amazon which I promptly returned as I didn’t like it at all. This one is a delight. I am thrilled.

I wanted to replace a long lost one, with the straight blade for scrapping jars and spreading butter and condiments on bread. This is a nice product and I like the wood handle but just remember not to put into a dishwasher! I recommend.

Quality stainless steel flexible spatula, nice wood handle, great for icing.

I love the size of this spatula. I bought this for icing cakes but there are so many uses. I would recommend handwashing as the wood looked a little worn after being in the dishawasher. Would buy again.

This was recommended by a recipe and I love it. It really makes frosting the sides of a layer cake much easier.

Used it to smooth off a repair to a concrete window-sill, using cement powder, silver sand and dilute PVA. No problems.

gifted this to a friend and they said that the sticker on the spatula is hard and annoying to get off but I think it's alright besides that.

I like this product. My only complaint was the sticker on the blade that was almost impossible to remove. I spent a lot of time trying to remove it and it still shows a mark where it was. This size is better for icing cakes than cookies. I purchased the smaller size for frosting cookies. But it is a nice size for removing the cookies from the cookie sheet.

What can I say - its a spatula. It is the perfect size and weight. I like it and would purchase another.
