ACDelco Gold 335-1196 (88878264) Alternator

2011 Chev. Suburban 5.3 liter Very pleased. Alternator arrived on time, well packaged; and completely intact. Excellent price for a NEW ACDelco alternator. It is the exact replacement for the OEM original I was replacing. Follow the many videos to be found. Installation is very easy. Have patience, if installing new serpentine belt. Because it is new, and not stretched, it will be tight; but the 'ah-ha' moment will come quickly. DO, make a diagram of serp belt 'routing'. No worries then of 're-threading'. Also included is 1-800 tech help line #. My call re: torque pounds on mounting bolts, (41lbs.), was returned and answered within 15 mins.! My initial questions were, 'what is the difference between this alt. #335-1196 & OEM #25877026?' First, about a $100.00 less than OEM. Only difference, (to the best of my knowledge), is that ACDelco. #335-1196 is made in Mexico; which makes no difference to me. It is, (and very clearly marked), a NEW ACDelco alternator.I do not want any other brand in the Subbie. #25877026 , (I assume), is made in U.S. "Professional '#335-1196 is ALL NEW ACDelco parts, fits perfectly, good warranty; and charging like a mad dog. Was a littlle concerned at firtst, Regulator frequency was causing volt meter to fluctuate rythmically. Stabilized afted a few days and has been stable and working well for about six months now. Burn in period I hope. And yes, the battery was charged up prior to alternator installation. Satisfied customer.

Would highly advise going against this product if your doing it for a Chevy 2014 Silverado 5.3. Bought to replace my alt, while it does in fact alike with the item ID part, they are not the same as the original alt in your truck. It fits in there, however the electrical plug that attaches , is in the back of the alt, which faces the manifolds and is barely any room so you cannot use your factory harness that goes to the distribution fuse without possibly making your own wire to connect from the back to the battery. However, you can find GMS exact replacement by just finding the part number and putting it in. 100% replacement on the other no issues. If your gonna do this might as well go ahead and clean throttle body, replace air filter if need to. Also the part in the picture is false, it’s not black but metal unlike the one shown and your original one. Also this was made China. It comes with the box that says from acedelco Mexico, but then has made in China on it. Wouldn’t not recommend for 14 Chevy Silverado 1500

Everything is positive. All the pieces fit no issues getting it in. No problems firing up light went out like it was supposed to. I reset everything. I’m good to go.

I was surprised how good it looked for a rebuild, looks brand new haven't put it on yet but I'm sure it's going to be just fine.

First, The item was exactly what I was looking for, A new OEM replacement at a good price, However that is worthless if they can't get it delivered undamaged. When I received the alternator the box was damaged and taped up. When I opened it the alternator cover was cracked and the connecting stud was bent over against the case. The box it was packed in was much to light and the original packing tape obviously was not sufficient for the weight. I returned it for replacement and after waiting another week got the replacement only to find the exact same thing had happened, It looked like the bottom tape gave way and the alternator had been bounced on the ground. This experience has made me very wary of ordering anything shipped direct from Amazon.

I bought this Alternator to replace the original OEM factory alternator for my 2008 Chevy Tahoe that was giving the check "The Service Battery Charging System" message. I will say, it was delivered on time and VERY well packaged! Installed myself and required minimal mechanical skills just a few tools. So far has worked flawless. No check the charging system so far and its been about 3 weeks in up and down weather conditions when this message would come up at least 3-4 times a week since changing. NOTE: If you haven't changed your serpentine belt in a while, do it while you have this one off and it's super easy. Hope this helps.

Brand new as stated, not reman'd. Nicely packaged, quick delivery. No complaints.

Not happy. After nine months died. Only one month warranty from what I can see.
