I don't know what the other reviewers are thinking when they write such horrible things about this amazing product. It is not sour or bitter or anything of the sort; it is chocolate syrup that tastes like chocolate syrup. A sugar high does not come with it (perhaps what the others don't like or are missing?) as Hershey's use erythritol--the exception to the rule--which is the only natural (or otherwise) sugar alcohol that does not cause diarrhea under any circumstances. Now that in and of itself is reason to buy it for those out there with concerns about sugar consumption. Most other products use maltitol (or any of the other sugar alcohols), which works better than any other laxative that I've tried. In short, if you are a sugar-free fanatic, this is the product for you! A postscript--if you are not used to consuming sugar-free products, then it is going to taste odd in comparison to sugar-garbage. Also, the fact that Hershey's can get a product like this to incorporate erythritol and not have it recrystallize is remarkable.

The batch I received appeared to have been sitting on a shelf for a while. The syrup does not flow easily. Not a deal breaker, just bothersome. Otherwise this is a perfect substitute for those on sugar-free diets.

Ok - if you dont regularly consume sugar free products, this likely wont be for you. It doesnt really taste like the original. At least not to me. But Ive been eating sugar free products for decades so what I find appealing may differ dramatically from someone just starting their sugar free journey. In my opinion with this product less is more. If I add to much to my coffee with milk, it ruins the flavor and will have an overly artificial flavor profile. My boyfriend uses it daily just 1 squirt in 30 oz Coffee. We also use subscribe and save, and so far we get a great price every few months.

The flavor of this product on its own reminds me of what (I'd imagine) chocolate flavored eh...personal lubricant might taste like (not that I'd know), possibly because one of the ingredients is glycerin. However in milk, it tastes great! I tried it in skim, 1%, 2% and whole milk, and half & half. The more fat content the dairy has the better it tastes. The key to making it, is to have the milk in the glass and stirring as you pour the syrup in. The more syrup, the more chocolaty it tastes. I did not try this in non-dairy "milk" because I'm an neither lactose intolerant, nor do I care for non-dairy imposter products. Having said that, I will most likely be purchasing this product again. I only wish they sold this in my local grocery stores.

This worked well with out the guilt. One thing i did notice is that if you put it on icecream or anything thats already sweet it doesn't pair well . Put it in coffee or on peanut butter or salty items then it tastes very good. Also good when mixed with unsweetened almond milk.
