These slate slabs arrived carefully packed and were received unbroken. The pads on the bottom of the slates are appear durable. They are beautifully shaped to size. I am using them to protect my table from hot plates for everyday meal serving. They look beautiful on my maple driftwood table.

It is a great board for cheese and charcuterie. Raise you game!But if you have a laser engraver, slate engraves white and can make a durable mark!

I ordered these both to use 4 as charcuterie boards and to keep one for photography.These ARE natural slate, with all the weight that comes with it, but they're fairly thin, averaging between 1/8" and 1/4". I've kept the thickest for photos, as that gives the most luxurious impression; it makes a beautiful base for food photography, but it also makes an interesting tray for a jewelry display or art materials like paint tubes and a mixing palette, and can be used as a low riser for vignettes or add interest underneath a finished smaller-scale artwork (up to about 8x12").Mine arrived in good shape, though I was a little concerned about shipping due to slate's general fragility--it's known to flake into layers when hit, and have little shards break off that have sharp edges. But they arrived intact, reasonably well-packed.

Haven’t had chance to laser or CNC yet but don’t feel it will have any issues.

I love these slate platters. They are great for parties and gatherings - they make me look much more cool than I actually am. I have used them for cheese and crackers (charcuterie) and mini desserts. Because they're slate, you can write on them with chalk so people know exactly what you're serving.There are 5 boards, and they each have rubber feet on the bottom to protect the table you're setting them on. To clean them, you just wash with a little soap and dry them off (or let them air dry).I've definitely taken my hostess duties to the next level with these beautiful boards.

…I was pretty happy to receive these black slate cheese boards in one piece since I know they could break in transit being theater they are fragile. My main issue with these is the fact they show fingerprints from the moment you touch them. I may have hand’s that are always moisturized, lol but they sure show my prints very clearly. Obviously, the prints are cleanable, but that was my first impression on how easy it happened. Maybe I will use gloves when putting this to use, but that seems over the top.
