The scope of this book is expansive and gives a keen insight into the corporate greed that exists within the shipping industry. It is also sad to read about people who were threatened and lost their lives trying to investigate and do the right thing. If you really want to know how the world works where it comes to movement of goods and how modern day shipping impacts our lives, you need to read this book.

This is a great story about insurance fraud and how Lloyds really functions. Shipping has become so brutally efficient that it does not enter our consciousness anymore.

Astonished at the frauds in the shipping industry - in today's age where everything can be digitally tracked, this story blows your mind. It's also a wonderful 101 of shipping industry and it's evolution. It left me wondering if there are many more like this which never got reported or written about.

This book starts innocently enough, with David Mocket going to Yemen to work and live. In the middle of the book, we discover a car bomb has killed him. In the first chapter, we also learn about the threats to his life. From there, Kit Chellel and Matthew Campbell take you on a journey into the murky world of shipping, scuttling, fraud, insurance, and how the ruthless get away with every criminal act. The tale is fascinating, and I applaud the authors for keeping me on the edge of my seat for the entire duration of the book. In the audiobook, Tim Bentinck's narration is marvelous. He is never over the top, yet he pulls you along as the book progresses. This is brilliant. I picked it up on a whim and loved it. Am I shocked? Yes, and no. Have I been enlightened, and did I learn something? Yes.

Ponen al descubierto la deleznable política de secretismo ee Lloyds de Londres, un conglomerado de aseguradores típicos de la cleptocracia anglosajona, trufada de prácticas cuestionables cuando no claramente criminales.

For me the most important thing I’ve learned with this book was the notion of how the maritime and insurance markets work, and a little about lawers strategies in big cases. What can I say as a resume is that the time and money expended in this book worth. (Ps: Sorry by the bad english but I’m a brazilian.)
