This product worked great for 1.5 months, then the mic started producing awful static. The cord was not abused, and the cable from my other headphones and an older cable confirmed that the cable just brown down. And it just stopped working well for the mic.

Cat ate my official cable. I bought this one as a replacement. Works as advertised.

bleedover from the audio to the microphone lines happens even if the microphone is completely disconnected. This is a really low quality wire, but it'll get you by until you can get a real replacement. I'm using a 373d headset.I wouldn't buy this again at $11.

Literally stopped working within about 2 weeks, avoid.

So I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the prongs cause I bought a pair similar to these and after I cut the red and green prongs off the mic bleeding stopped. (I spliced the wire with the original wire [broken].)Basically, even with a muted mic they send a mic signal to your computer. (I have a headset where I can mute my mic by lifting it, only way to stop the leak is to completely turn the mic signal off from the PC.)
