My old charger would not charge the battery pack on my Pride mobility scooter. I took the cover off the battery pack and checked the individual 12-volt battery's while charging. I used a voltmeter and found no output from the charger. I decided the charger must be defective, so I purchased this charger. Same result. The new charger flashed an error code, and the instructions indicated that the charger won't work if the batteries combined are below 14 volts, mine were around 3 volts each. I used an automotive charger on trickle charge (4 amps) to get the individual batteries above 8 volts each. After doing that the new charger operated as advertised. I also checked the operation of my old charger, and it worked as well. Maybe this information will save folks some trouble in the future.
