Opti-Lube XL Xtreme Lubricant Diesel Fuel Additive: Gallon (1 Gallon (Treats 1280 Gallons))

This stuff is great!! I mix it with the Optilube Summer Lube+ for my summer mix. Less than half the price of the Optilube XPD, which I use for my winter mix.

I love this stuff. I have a 99 F250 w/ 222k miles and I add 8oz to every fill up. The engine runs smoother and my mpg has significantly improved. Before I would fill up every 1.5 weeks, now I only fill up every 2.5-4 weeks (most of my weekly driving is 40mph) A long road trip to my parents would cost 7/8 a tank now I have 5/8 on arrival. I use the XPD in the winter and the XL in the summer. The XL greatly improves the mpg. I buy it by the gallon and keep/refill 2 small 8oz bottles in the cab for fill ups. I am buying the summer+ now to mix with the XL and see if it can improve even more. I plan to mix 6oz XL and 2oz Summer+ More info for what has greatly helped my truck run smoother, more power, etc -Shell or Cefco diesel -Rotella T6 15w40 -Wix air, fuel, and xp oil filters -change oil every 4-5k miles -change fuel filter with oil change All of these combined have really improved the smoothness of the engine, mpg, and power. Drives like new.

Came well packed, only negative is the screw on dispenser does not attach very well, but does work, I'm just not comfortable that it seals like it should. I do notice less engine noise and smoother running, slightly less RPMs at idle. Have not gone through a tank of fuel to know if there is any noticeable change to MPG. Overall, it seems to be doing its job, better than any other diesel additives I've tried, and I've tried everything on the shelf available at the Autoparts stores. I do have to say, of all the top additives I've tried, besides this one, MMO gave me the best results. So we will see how Opti Lube compares and will update this review if I notice any significant differences.

Online reviews of diesel fuel additives give this product a very high rating. I have a 2015 Powerstroke and use 4oz for every fill up. Cheap insurance to help avoid costly engine repairs. I live in California and fuel standards here already have sufficient Cetane levels so a Cetane additive is not needed.

At about the 40K mile mark on my l5p, I decided to start using this based on various youtube automotive channels showing diesel engine fuel systems getting torn up from poor lubricity of fuel. Otherwise, I can't tell a day-to-day difference with or without. One gallon lasts about a year so the cost is trivial.

If you own a 2010-2015 VW TDI with the high pressure fuel pumps that like to grenade, this stuff is for you. Best diesel lubricant out there.
