I got this to engrave some pet tags and to label some of my more expensive tools and electronics in case they are stolen. This set will work for this purpose. It comes with a large selection of bits (stored in a plastic case) and is as easy to use as a drill. I had two minor problems with this set. The main problem was that after using a bit for an extended amount of time, it becomes loose and wobbly so I have to stop and retighten it or risk it will fly out. I tighten it as tight as I can but it probably isn’t sufficient because I have limited hand strength. This would work better for me if it was designed so you could tighten it using a very small drill chuck key. The second problem is the set of 4 stencils that are included are not useful for the types of things I plan to engrave – the lettering is too large (about ½ inch high). Most of the items I want to engrave don’t have enough space for such large letters, so I am using this freehand, which has resulted in rather messy letters that look more like scratches than engravings. The letters are readable but not very professional looking. This will take practice and experimenting with different bits to get better results. Overall this is a good set for beginners – I took off 1 star for the two problems I had.

This sucks, I wish my dog hadn’t gotten into it so I could return. My issue was it didn’t carve metal wood or anything that I actually needed it for.
