Wow, This product is incredible! Took my daughter’s curly hair to pin straight!

I have 3c/4a curly/coily hair. I used this for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to blow dry & get my hair silky straight and it was shiny. It took around 1 hour for the whole process since I needed to get use to the product and wasn't hard for me to use if you actually follow instructions. I'm so happy I went with my gut and bought it instead of reading reviews. It worked so well....I currently have a revair but it isn't good for travel, I needed something that would be and this fit the bill perfectly. The price is high but it's worth it. Best decision I made...

I have extremely thick hair with too much volume. It's curly underneath, and straight on the top. I like the width of the plate, and don't find the dryer heavy to operate. There is a learning curve, but it's not steep. I find this to be the most efficient tool I have ever used on my hair. Contrary to what the directions indicate, it's not timely to dry one section, switch to the smoothing section, and then switch back to drying the hair. It takes a good 3 minutes. I sent the tool back to GHD and after they "repaired" my expensive new tool of 2 weeks, then sent it back with the delay. EDIT: I have a lemon. At my own expense I returned it to GHD. They sent it back, supposedly repaired. I have since used it twice. Today, my third time, I got a flashing red light. It is hard to believe, but for $350, this product has a 30 day return period. Totally sucks.

I can't say for long term but I use for a few weeks and work perfectly, you can dry hair after take show work perfectly and when your try make yoir hair straight your iron flat is hot is a few seconds

I love the idea of this product. It takes a really long time to dry your hair and the flat iron doesn’t make it all the way to your roots. If you’re in a pinch and can only carry ‘one thing’ it’s a good choice but honestly, I use my other (cheaper) products instead, they dry my hair faster and straighten more effectively. It also sounds like a jet engine starting up which is actually kind of cool lol.

So, yes the wieght gets to you, but its takes the place of using a blow dryer and a hot iron. If you want best results, go slow and more than a couple passes. However, I have bleached hair and its a bit damaged. When I used it wet it came out stiff so I used my rotating air brush to dry my hair, then the iron, and it came out perfect. So, if your hair is damaged/bleached severely I wouldn't recommend it, but my daughter LOVES it!

I think the value of this depends on what type of hair you have. I have medium length, naturally straight hair. I normally use a straightener to curl my hair after it is dry in the morning. I thought I could use this to both dry and curl my hair at the same time, but it did not work out for me. I cannot use this to curl my hair like I can a normal straightener. I can get a tiny curve at the ends, but that’s it. It does work to dry my hair, but for my straight hair, I think a normal blow dryer is faster and just as effective. I’m sure this is a lifesaver for some people, but for me, it is not worth the money.

J’étais perplexe 🤨 face à ce nouveau produit. Alors j’ai fait plusieurs recherches et à la suite de leurs résultats positifs, je me suis laissée convaincre. Sans blague, meilleur produit à vie! Malgré le prix en vaut vraiment le peine! J’ai les cheveux épais et frisés, mais il a tenu promesse. Brushing comme chez la coiffeuse sans le déplacement ni les frais. Je recommande sans hésitation et j’ai même rangé tous mes autres équipements! Merci GHD 🥰

This is my favourite hair tool to use now. It is brilliant. It styles my wavy/curly hair perfectly and my hair stays straighter for longer than it usually does if I were to use a normal hair dryer and straighteners (compared to cloud 9s) It is big, it may not be suitable for you if you struggle to hold heavy tools BUT I find this much much faster to style my hair so I don't mind this too much. My hair feels so much healthier and softer when I've styled it with this straightener. I can jump out the shower, towel dry my hair and straighten it from wet. I've been able to do my whole head, wet to dry and straight, in 10 minutes!! (Medium length, bleached, thick). It definitely feels like it's doing much less damage but I would still recommend using heat protection spray as you are still applying heat to your hair and there's no harm in extra protection! It is a little loud when you first turn the device on but it is still quieter than most normal hair dryers and I wouldn't expect it to be silent. You might struggle if others are asleep nearby but no more than a hairdryer. I LOVE this styler and it's pretty much the only tool I will use now. Friends and family have given it a go too on different hair types and it's been amazing every time!! I have had this about 3 months now and it's still working like the day I bought it. I'm hoping this lasts as long as other ghd products used to but I am hopeful so far. *There is mention of it in the instructions but I would let the device run and heat up for a couple of minutes before first use and the plastic smell disappears. This is normal for most devices but is worth noting that it's nothing to worry about*

After months of consistent use, here’s what I thought about this GHD duet styler. For reference, my hair is thick and wavy. I always use heat protection and leave in conditioner before I do anything to my hair. The instructions said you can use it directly from a towel dried hair, so I did dry and style my hair as usual. On my 3rd week of using it, little did I know I was slowly frying my hair while drying it that a chunk literally fell off. (I also noticed that I have a lot more hair fall out vs when I use just a regular hair straightener.) Luckily it’s at the back and I can hide it. I stopped using it after that, and did some more research. According to one of the reviews I saw, you are suppose to still blow dry your hair to about 50% dampness. I feel like it defeats the idea of getting this tool being a 2-in-1, but it is what it is. Just annoyed that I’ve been styling my hair for over 20 years and this is the first time this has happened to me. Now I’m stuck with another tool I will barely use, plus the uneven hair- yes, I’m still letting it grow : / — Other problems I have noticed is the fluctuation in temperature of the hair dryer. When I first got this it was really hot, months later it’s not.
