Hooway 7x50 Waterproof Fogproof Military Marine Binoculars w/Internal Rangefinder & Compass for Navigation,Boating,Fishing,Water Sports,Hunting and More

Had my eyes on these binoculars for a long time. Firstly they feel well made but slightly heavier than I expected, but not too bad. I like the carry case that they come with. Easy to use, Individual lens focus, which I wanted as I have better sight in my left eye than the right one, so this made for perfect vision. Excellent bright, clear images, great for birds, boats, sport etc. Excellent value. Love that they float if dropped in the water and that you can estimate the distance from an object if it's size is known. Compass is a nice addition and seems accurate. They came with a spare set of batteries for the compass light if required. I would recommend these binoculars, best I've had to date.

Good for the price but as others have reported no way are they "Fog Proof". They eye pieces steam up quickly at first so you have to leave a gap to allow some ventilation. I hope this is not a problem out at sea. The batteries were the wrong size and did not make touch with the contacts. Pushing them to one side made contact but the switch was faulty and the light flickered so had to return the first pair. No comment on the range finder as not a requirement for me. Pros Really good daytime vision ideal for sailing. Good at night too. Cons The Compass is not easy to see unless eyes positioned slightly low. Quickly fog up Bit heavy

I am a professional sailor. I would not describe these as marine binoculars. The optics are good. The compass is next to useless. It was giving widely varying results when taking a series of bearings of a fixed point. None of the bearings taken were within acceptable range of control bearings taken with a hand bearing compass. The compass light is too bright. At night it obscures the reading of the compass. These are unsuitable for regular marine use. I have returned mine.

Very good for non stabilizing work well in a marine environment day and night.

I use it for boating

Visited a friend in Maine who shared his Binoculars with me. I loved them. When I got home I ordered my own and have enjoyed their clarity and ease of focus ever sense. I got the yellow.

Tried this one and compared to the german without the compass. I didn't see any difference that justify the extra money. Maybe on the long run as for sure the other one seems more sturdy. Do not rely however on the compas which seems a bit approximate, sometimes off by 5 deg...

I would buy again

Very nice, worth the price. The first one came in the original box but someone had returned it and it was missing pieces. Returned it for a replacement and the second one the box was not opened looked brand new but was missing pieces. So we returned it. The binoculars are wonderful but we were frustrated with the missing parts issues. We are waiting on the 3rd set hopefully it will have all the parts
