Great ointment with petrolatum base, 2in1. After cleaning, pat dry. Apply this ointment with fingers or using the provided applicator nozzle. The phenylephrine should be limited use so use it only 2-3 times. It has been practical after bowel movement, one time in middle of day, and once at night. In between use witch hazel soak and either coconut oil or vaseline afterwards. Of course the ointment and the use of a suppository will provide better relief than just this ointment alone. Overall, this ointment is an effective vasoconstrictor the reduces itching/discomfort. The ointment is thick. As the base is petroleum jelly, the lubricant is present. The ointment does not contain lidocaine. I like the 2oz multi-pack so that I can keep one in multiple locations. The tube is travel size, which is perfect for on-the-go. The ointment has no fragrance added. This ointment pack was the best value.

It does the job at a low price. I believe it compared favorably with other well known brands.

The seller offers 2 types of product........ a cream version that is like a body lotion and another that is "vaseline" based. So be careful to order the type that you want. Both do the job,but the cream is more creamy and is less sticky.

If you need this, you know you need it.. it is effective just like the name brand but way cheaper and less embarrassing at checkout.
