Useful, easy to assemble, and I love the arms!

The inspector upon return of item stated the carton was damaged. I received the carton in very poor condition. The stand was incompatible with the dress form. The arms were not included with the item. The form was not pin-able as advertised. That would have required an additional layer of fabric. Disappointing.

This is a vintage style small mannequin that is not to full human scale. It's 17" without the stand. It's clad in muslin-like fabric with a body that can be pinned. It comes with a heavy metal stand that's easy to put together. Included in the package is one mannequin body, two arms, a stand, and a drawstring storage bag. The arms are detachable and can be left off or pinned or sewn on. I love that the arms are optional, as they can sometimes get in the way when working with smaller pieces. If they're pinned on, they can be easily removed. The mannequin is suitable to be used as decoration in a sewing room or it would make an excellent tool for someone learning about fashion design or pattern drafting, or anyone learning to sew. The mannequin also allows for learning about drafting pants patterns. It would be perfect for displaying and designing doll clothes, too, or can be used as a photo prop. It's not the right size for displaying human clothes. This mannequin is a high quality detailed mini version of a full size retro mannequin, and it would make a perfect gift for someone learning how to sew, or anyone looking for a retro decoration that would look great in a sewing room. As someone who sews and has designed my own patterns, I really like it!

I do a lot of sewing and patternmaking so I like having full-size dressforms to work on, but sometimes I prefer a half-scale form so that I don’t waste too much muslin or fabric to test a design or work through an idea. This half-scale dressform has a lot of good features, but its base needed to be heavier. PROS: (1) The dressform extends down to include partial legs. This is especially helpful when working on pants or a jumpsuit design. (2) The package includes stuffed arms that you can pin to the dressform. This is useful when working on jackets or off-the-shoulder styles where you need arms to get accurate fit or styling details. (3) The dressform is easy to secure to the base and has a tightening device that makes it easy to raise or lower the dressform on its post. (4) The measurements of this dressform matched the specs in the description within 1/8”. CONS: (1) The dressform base and body are extremely light-weight. When you are draping on the form you want it to have some “heft” so it doesn’t move around as you pin muslin or fabric to the form. I’m not as confident that it will stay put. OVERALL: This is a good half-scale dressform that would be extremely useful for a Fashion Design student or anyone who wants to design garments for a industry-standard size body. This half-scale is comparable to an industry size 6 in the bust and a size 8 in the waist and hips. (The bust is smaller than the waist and hips proportionally, but you can always pad the bust area with batting. ) The dressform came in its own muslin drawstring bag to keep it clean, which is helpful if you plan to take this to class or away from home.

Nice, but would be helpful if labeled as to what size it was actually half size of. I needed a half scale Size 8. What I was sent was a half scale Size 6. Needed for a class, and didn't have time for another brand to be shipped from China. Making it work though! It also has detachable arms and is fully pinnable.

I mostly drape when creating clothing designs then draft my patterns from the drape. This half scale dress form is nicer than I had thought it was going to be. There weren’t any directions for assembly included in the package but it was easy to figure it out. Assembly took minutes. It was carefully wrapped so it arrived clean and without any markings or damages. The arms need to be pinned on. Pins were not included but a nice storage bag was. It feels solid and sturdy. I cannot wait until I can put it to use!

Nice natural color. The only thing missing is a pair of magnets on the arms for easy attachment and detachment. The stitching is excellent, and the figure itself is perfect. I have several models, and this one has a smaller/flatter chest; this can be helpful if doing a male garment. It is easy to assemble and sturdy; it is not heavy. As mentioned, I have others that have a heavy base, and this one is a little lighter. The arms are a perfect fit with or without the pins to hold them. I remove one star for value only because of the price. I am used to paying several hundred for realistic sizes, and this is a mini model that requires much less material to make.
