Well made
Heavy duty and built to last. I was pleasantly surprised. We have had it 3 years. Granted we live in Texas and don’t burn it but 3-4 months a year but with our type of fireplace, the amount of heat it takes is amazing. It is heavy so moving it to clean out the ash takes some muscle.

Excellent grate: met all my requirements
We have purchased several grates over the years since we have always owned homes with wood-burning fireplaces that we use. I have tried all types of grates with various bar configurations and several price points. Here is what I was looking for when searching for a grate for our new home (to replace one that was absolutely pitiful): 1) Heavy and thick. The bars need to be thick because a fire is very hot and eventually all bars will get thin over time and will wear through. If the bars are already thin, this will happen quickly causing frequent replacement. 2) Sturdy. Some grates are so poorly made that they can actually wobble - not a good sign. 3) Fills as much of the fireplace as possible so that the number and length of the logs can be maximized. Getting a grate that doesn't fill the space means the logs will fall off the side onto the floor as they burn down as well as limiting the number of logs that can be placed in the fireplace. 4) Has a good upcurve on the front so that logs don't roll out the front. 5) Has no obstruction on the sides. I had one of those before and longer logs don't sit on the grate but end up resting on the raised side bar. That doesn't work well 6) The spacing of the bars and the height of the bars from the floor is critical. - If the bars are too close together (too much metal) or they are close to the floor of the fireplace, there isn't enough air circulation and keeping a fire going is very difficult. - If the bars are too far apart, as the logs burn down, they will fall through and end up on the bottom of the fireplace where they won't burn. After careful consideration and comparison shopping between options, this grate was the one I purchased since it met absolutely every one of my criteria. It's well made, thick bars, nice spacing of the bars as well as good clearance from the floor, excellent curve of the bars on the front. The size is as close to perfect as you can get and the dimensions in the product description are 100% accurate. (That was another plus - the dimensions were crystal clear and left nothing to guess work nor did it require communication with the vendor for clarification.) I am so, so pleased with this purchase and the price is excellent - especially when compared to others I have purchased over the years. Note: I almost did not buy this due to the fact people were reporting that reviewers were given a 10% off coupon for new orders if reviews rated it 5 stars. That goes against my ideas of how reviews should operate. If there had been another option that met my criteria, I would have gone that way since the good reviews are tainted (IMO). Since this was the only one i could find that I wanted, I purchased it anyway and I'm glad I did. I believe the 5-star reviews are warranted, but I think the company is doing a disservice to themselves by muddying the waters with the coupon for good reviews. The product is deserving of 5-stars and doesn't need to have doubt cast over reviews which are honestly earned.

Perfect for our needs!
This was so easy to put together and is strong and sturdy. More so than others we have bought in the past. It is a nice solid weight and is holding up well so far. True to size and fit perfectly in our fire place. It functions as it should and holds toe wood on nicely. I never worry about a piece of wood rolling out of the fire place! It's not anything great to look at but does it's.job beautifully! Hopefully it makes it through the whole winter or mayb two!

Sturdy
Nice grate. Much more robust than my previous one. Has an additional ‘slat’ also, so it keeps more of the embers and small wood pieces in the grate. My only issue is that it does not sit flat on the fireplace floor. Overall, the grate is a bit warped. It does not impact the functionality at all, but I do find it kind of annoying.

Solid Grate for real Split Log Fires
This heavy duty 24" fireplace grate is ideal for the large fires we love to build in our large opening fireplace. Pros: Heavy duty rails and legs meant to last. Sagging on the larger 30" reviews is not a problem with this 24" model even though rails are glowing red hot. 7 rail design is much better than our old 4 rail model, keeping the larger coals in the fire while allowing the smallest embers to drop to the fireplace floor. Appears well constructed with good welds at the joints. I have no comment about paint, as the hot fires we build are expected to burn any paint off the bulk of the grate very quickly. Cons: I wish the bend angle at the back of the rails were shallower like the front. Can't put 2 really big split logs across the bottom of the fire as I like to and still get air flow between them into the upper levels of the fire, so changed my fire building design to use smaller pieces at the bottom and larger on top. A little more difficult to get these big oak fires started. All in all a really nice grate. For the folks using sticks and very small wood, you might want a design with steel mesh over the rails to stop it all from falling through as it burns, but this 7 rail design might be good enough. For large hot fire folks like us, steel mesh would burn up in short order.

Excellent heavy duty log grate
This was a replacement for a similarly sized log grate that I'd purchased locally, so long ago I'd lost track of the years (10 years? 15? More?). The old grate eventually burned through all the center bars and only the outside edges remained (plus it sagged), so it was time for it to go. Given the sad and warped state of the old grate, it was tricky to find a replacement that would be as much like that one as possible. This Amagabeli log grate turned out to be perfect. It's very heavy, and has the same cross sectional profile for the bars as the old grate (this was important!!! Smaller 24" grates from various sellers have much thinner bars, which is not obvious from the photos; you have to look carefully at the measurements to recognize and understand this. Thinner bars will almost certainly not last as long as thicker. 30" grates have bars which are more than twice as thick as 24" grates (do the math on the cross sectional area) and not only are they larger by span, they're significantly thicker and heavier overall. The new grate is slightly wider in the front than the old one, but still fits well in our large fireplace. First fire of the year in it was excellent. Time will tell as to how many seasons this lasts, but there's no reason to believe it can't be stretched to 10, 15+ years as the old one had been.

A part is missing
My order was missing one of the ten crossbars and the seller appears to be ghosting me now. The quality appears fine but I NEED all the parts to operate. I would rate with zero stars if allowed.
