Makes great Quick-kimchi. I loved it! Spicy!

I love kimchi and all things kimchi (I even use kimchi ketchup and have a mister to mist kimchi juices onto popcorn). I was really looking forward to this seasoning. It is good, and it does taste like kimchi, but despite having a silica pack inside it is full of moisture and is all clumped together. Shaking the jar as instructed did nothing, I had to use a knife to break it up so that I could sprinkle it onto fries. I'm storing it in the fridge, as is recommended on the bottle, and when I just pulled it out to sprinkle it on chicken breast it is once again all clumped up and required me to pry off the shaker lid and again separate it with a knife. I really love this seasoning, but it is way too much work. I will hold off on repurchasing until they do something about the packaging / clumps. I thought a shake on seasoning would be a nice low effort way to get the flavor of kimchi, but at this point, just opening a jar and spooning some kimchi onto what I'm eating is less work.

The powder was super clumpy like it had been exposed to moisture and the taste was eehhh. It will work for soups and stuff but not for meat.

It tastes similar to the power you get with kimchi noodle bowls minus all the salt, the noodle bowls contain, tastes good on almost anything even popcorn.

It's a shame that it ships from an American distributor rather than from within Canada, but it went through customs quickly and arrived promptly (within a week rather than the estimated delivery of 2 weeks or so). I'm delighted that this is vegan, gluten-free, and comes as a 2 pack. We've used around 1/3 of the first bottle in the past 2 weeks, so a little goes a long way which makes the price more bearable. This low-sodium, spicy powder is flavourful, has a nice heat, and is enjoyed by both the young and old in the house. My favourite use so far is: 1 tsp of HOXY Journey of Korea Kimchi Seasoning Mix (12 % of daily sodium), 1 tsp of miso paste (10 % of daily sodium), 1/4 tsp of dried wakame (seaweed), 1/4 cup of frozen peas, and 1 small block of bean noodles (aka glass noodles), and around 1.5 cups of hot water fresh from the electric kettle (I usually don't add the miso until the noodles have softened and the seaweed is rehydrated to protect the beneficial bacteria in the miso from the heat). I'm not sure how heat affects the beneficial pre- and pro-biotics in the seasoning mix, but my guts love it. This quick soup tastes better than the instant noodles bowls with their 70 % daily sodium and is much healthier!
