Cool & Practical
These cases are great, having a cool and sturdy metallic feel despite being heavy duty plastic. Unlike some of the other cases offered here, a standard, commercial pack of smokes cannot be placed directly inside, however, these do hold 20 x 100mm cigarettes nicely -- Which of course makes these particularly great for the RYO/MYO crowd.I would also note that opening and closing the case can be a bit confusing at first as instructions show to use a sliding-downwarwd thumb mechanism, yet it's much easier to simply grip the front panel on each side with your fingers and pull down slightly to release the flip-top-box.

Great Cases for RYO
I don't know what these low star ratings received or if they've ever bought hard cases for cigarettes before. My husband and I have been RYO for about ten years now, and these are the second-best cases I've found. I only say second-best, because my husband prefers the two-piece cases. I prefer this style myself, but I can attest my husband's cases have lasted him for years, whereas my flip-top cases I have to constantly replace. The cases with the thin two little plastic or metal tabs to serve as a hinge break quickly. The ones with a tiny plastic tab that hold them shut break in no time at all. The ones with two tiny springs smaller than the spring in a ballpoint pen break and fall out quickly. Those magnetic ones fall open the first time they are dropped and never stay closed again. I (accidentally, meant to order one set of two) ordered four of these cases (2 sets of two) and I like them very much. They arrived with no damage. I have dropped them onto concrete and no damage. I like that they have a sturdy single hinge pin that goes 3/4 of the way across the top, and the slide down to open with a solid lip that goes all the way around the area that holds it closed is not going to break off. These seem well built - overbuilt compared to everything else I have found. Don't be afraid to order these based on the three low-stars reviews. Maybe they were posted by competitors? IDK, but I am impressed with the quality of these cases compared to the majority of ones sold in smoke shops and here on Amazon, and they do NOT flip open by themselves. Mine came with no damage, no sharp seams, and they have suffered no damage in everyday use. I don't find it easy to do with one hand, because I have small hands, but it opens easily when I want to open, and does not open by itself. I see no way To easily break these short of destroying the case by running it over or something. I paid full price for these (higher than the current price) and have been offered nothing for my review, just an honest review by someone who is using these daily.***Update a year later 8/16/20. I am still using these same cases. I did manage to break one of the four I purchased, but I still can’t recommend highly enough. A year, not a month! Love them.

The Front Slides Down.
The front panel slides down a little bit to detach the spring-loaded lid. It took me a day or so to figure this out, and was about to give it a 2-star review because the lid seemed to be a pain to open... Now it's fairly easy (unless you have gloves on, but I don't smoke with gloves on)The case looks nice and serves its main purpose.I'm taking a half star off because the construction seems to be bare minimum. It's "good enough," but that's about it. It feels cheaper than it looks. I've been using it for about 3 or 4 weeks, and I haven't had any issues, but I will update if I think durability becomes an issue.Another half star is taken off because there's a potential tiny gap where the front panel slides past the bottom panel. If you hold the open empty case up and look into it, you can see a sliver of daylight between the front and bottom panels. I only mention this because I use a cigarette injector and make my own cigarettes. With loose cigarettes in this or any case, you will get some loose tobacco at the bottom. That gap means my jacket pockets will likely have some loose tobacco at the bottom as well.Still recommend, but I would gladly opt for a different opening mechanism for a solid case/lining.
