The greatest manga story ever created.
I don't have to say much. It's punpun. By now we now what we're getting into and it's at it's most heartbreaking yet. And the ending is also one of the best endings in my opinion it wraps up everything since chapter 1. The Pegasus cult, harumi, seki and Shimizu, punpun and aiko, Sachi, and yuuchi, this is the shortest book in the series but the best one punpun gets his conclusions which may be happy or sad depending on what kind of person you are. Inio asano's artwork reaches maximum value everything from the final panels of the Pegasus cult to the final panels are all gorgeous. Punpun is without a doubt the darkest story I've ever read especially with volume 6 but the final 2 chapters feel like all the suffering is over except for punpun he still has his demons but has been able to find closure. AND HOT BOI the ending has one of the greatest final lines in manga history with one of the most heartbreaking final lines for those who have remembered chapter 1.

A closure to one of the my favorite manga series
I love this manga. I read the entire series online and still decided to buy the entire series in print format as well. Just a fair warning, if you read the first couple of vols and think this will be a fun read, then you're in for a huge shock and disappointment. The author said in an interview that the first half of the manga was written in a way to get publisher to pick up this series. So there's definitely some bait and switch going on.... but just not necessary in a bad way... Spoiler Alert: The ending of this series is fairly long.... I would say it lasted the entire second half of this volume. It isn't all happy joyful but it isn't all dark and depressed either. I guess that's just part of life. Overall, I think it brings enough closure to all these characters... However, there are couple of plot points that I could never understand... I never understand is why the characters change are so sudden in the final arc. I never understand why Punpun/Aiko chose to run instead of just tell the truth.... it was very clear they could argue 'Self Defense'..... the physical evidence is on Aiko's body, Punpun barely just met Aiko so he couldn't have inflicted those wounds.... there's clear evidence that the mom was abusive and unstable.......Japan isn't a huge country, where could they possibly run to and not get caught? Okay well, I guess that's just a plot device to get them on the road, away from home...... but why did Punpun's attitude change so drastically for no apparent reason at all. He was finally able to reunion w/ his first love after so many years yearning for this chance....... why would he became so abusive to Aiko? I really hate to think that Aiko's suicide was directly caused by Punpun pushing her in a way for Aiko to realized there's no way out for both of them..... so she chose to sacrifice herself instead. Yea, I get that this is just a story, a manga.... it's just sad to see the protagonist made so many horrible decisions without any rational explanation. Finally, f'ck that 'Good Vibration' Cult, they are wasted of pages and are completely nonsensical. I couldn't believe one of the chapter was just the cult leader speaking to the camera..... Overall, I still love this entire series a lot.... it shows the lost of innocent of regular kids growing into adulthood. It didn't shy away from some very sensitive topics.... and although I could seen how the ending will unfold itself but I still hope that these characters could find salvation from various trauma they've faced. The way this manga series was able to make readers care for these fictional characters is the reason why so many people loved & recommended this series.

It all just happened
I feel like this whole story was a stream of conciousness and yet i stuck through it regardless. Perhaps that speaks volumes about the quality of the writing. It felt real, at times almost too real. It seems "Inio Asano" has a knack for turning the mundane into something gripping. I dont want to spoil anything but i assure you. This is a character driven piece. By all accounts if you do not empathize with the characters you will have a tough time reading this story. That being said the ending really sells the realism of the experience. W/O giving it away how it all ends just kind of happens. You feel that sense of life just being life. And the people within it do what they do because its within their character to do so, not solely for the stories convenience. This story embodies the idea of "it is what it is" and i'll be honest im glad i took the plunge. Maybe in the end pun pun finally found what he needed. Goodnight punpun. You deserve the rest.

I guess as I started this volume, I knew it was coming to an end and the pit of my stomach dropped. PunPun was a character I grew to love, hate, curse and connect with. Do things turn out like I’d wished? No… but I think that’s the beauty of this manga, is that life isn’t always beautiful, but when things are down often happiness can be found in the smallest of things. I’ll always thank the person that recommended me this series in the bookshop and it’ll go down as my favourite manga series. Goodnight indeed…
