Buy The Secret Lives of Introverts: Inside Our Hidden World by Granneman, Jenn, Lee, Adrianne (ISBN: 9781510721029) from desertcart's Book Store. Free UK delivery on eligible orders. Review: Good book - It’s just a book but I enjoy reading it Review: good, though a little repetitive - As a lifelong introvert, there was much in this book with which I could identify: the need for solitary downtime to recharge after the over-stimulation of work or social interaction; the stress caused by a dissipation of my mental energies in too many directions simultaneously; the preference for a small number of high quality interactions, rather than a large number of meaningless ones; the preference for meaningful conversations over small talk; avoidance of conflict due to the over-stimulation it inevitably causes. Despite this, there was a little too much repetition in this book, and I did not find it as good or inspirational as Susan Cain's Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking, which I read seven years ago. Worth a read, though, for anyone interested in introversion/extroversion, or anyone whose significant other or close family member is different from oneself in this respect.

good, though a little repetitive

Easy to read and quality info for introvert
My favourite book on introverts so far..easy to read and so many things that make you go 'ah' if you're an introvert...I was surprised that things I thought of as just me at commons to introverts generally. There are more of us than I realised!

Introverts are not rude ;-)
Now I know that the introverts are not rude when they do not talk, they just select who to talk to. Do not try to talk to the introverts just because you do not want to be quiet - in that case find someone who is an extrovert ;-)

Just Brilliant
I've always been a quiet person. But this book has taught me that that's okay. It's a brilliant book, that everyone should read, like a snapshot into my mind, and the audible voice is lovely. I learnt lots of new things about being a quiet person, and found both this really helpful, along with tips to help me improve. With interviews and quotes, it helped me to see that I'm not alone, and was a real eye opener. Would definitely read again, and wish this book had existed when I was growing up. The only thing I didn't find helpful was the bit about finding a partner, as I've done that already, found the perfect person for me. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

OK
The content of the book is good. But the cover is not well cut. I found the cover had a lot of defects. It could be made better.

Now I get it!!
This is an excellent book, much of it told from the heart and the content of which I can definitely relate to. I can't count the number of times I've been told I'm quiet and don't talk much, well, it made me think something must be wrong. This book dispels that theory. Its a very good book to start with, and one you will find, once read, that everything clicks into place.

Fellow INTROVERTS- here we come! It's our turn to set the world on fire, quietly yet distinctively. This book is designed specifically for introverts, but also provides some helpful tips to (open-minded) extroverts. As a twenty-something introvert here who was bullied 10 years, pressured to be an extrovert all my life by society & family & 'friends' over 20 years, and adopted the mentality to change who I am to simply be loved and accepted by others- no more! It's time I start owning my introverted life and truly taking care of myself from the inside-out, gradually and honestly. Thank you, Jenn, for not giving up on your introversion- for it inspires me to accept it too as a strength. Those of us part of the "Introvert, dear" online community website will appreciate and probably remember some advice found from the online articles but will better understand where Jenn is coming from as an introvert herself. Overall, it is definitely a worthwhile book to read to dive deeper into the lives and perspectives of multiple introverts who share their experiences from different viewpoints yet coming together to discuss similar situations with being introverted people. ~Although extroverts can read this book, I highly recommend introverts to only read it- mainly because the book is personalized for an introvert reading it and provides understanding wherever that introvert reading it is coming from.. & I highly recommend each introvert to share insight with extroverts that they know- they are likely to listen better by someone else rather than a book, if you know what I mean.
