ANCEL AD410 OBD II Vehicle Check Engine Light Scan Tool Automotive Code Reader Auto OBD2 Scanner with I/M Readiness (Black-Red) The unit. This arrives blister packed with instructions and a computer data USB cable to update it.. Set up. All you have to do is plug it into the OBD socket on your vehicle and select ‘read codes’ I have a van with the ignition light on and the dealer wanted £90 to run their diagnostics. I bought this unit as it would save me money. The unit identified the fault and gave the code and description. Error 0903 clutch actuator current high. I went under the vehicle to have a look at the pump and the wiring to find the wiring lagged in mud around the cable joint. I cleaned it all off and reconnected the connector and tried the van again, no warning light problem fixed! As you can see already this unit has more than paid for itself. It is much better than the cheap Bluetooth device I have as that could not identify the fault. Overall. I am very pleased with the quality, ease of use and the clarity of the fault code explanations. This was an excellent buy and I highly recommend it.

This is the first OBD II reader I've purchased and was not quite sure what to expect. It is incredibly easy to use, I didn't even need to read the instructions. Error codes can be easily read and also deleted from the engines computer. I chose the AD410 over some of the cheaper models as it has a better screen and can plot data. This feature has proved really useful for monitoring sensor outputs in real time during driving the car (whilst sat in the passenger seat). In particular, if the error relates to the correlation of different outputs then these can be plotted together. Even my 9 year old was having fun watching the various outputs and reporting back engine temperature etc.! Given the amount garages charge for a diagnostic check if you buy one of these you really can't go wrong.

I bought this for basic fault code reading when out buying cars for our racing team. It does a reasonable job of reading the most important fault codes. It also managed to reset the check engine light on my Triumph 865cc Speedmaster after I forgot that I'd disconnected the barometric pressure sensor. Pretty good value for money but of course you still have to look up fault codes.

This clever bit of kit correctly diagnosed my 2007 Lexus RX400H (Hybrid) but don't expect miracles. It cancelled the error codes nicely and not all of them came back, but cancelling an error code doesn't mean the cause of it has gone away of course! It will take Toyota's Techstream to see the subcodes, as the inverter is super-expensive part ($7,000 in the US not sure if available from Lexus at all in the UK) However, the sub code could reveal a loose wire. That's it, this gives you the preface of the book, but not the full story. Handy to have for less critical faults than mine though. At least I had the confidence to get the AA out to confirm and get it to a specialist garage and - once again - the AA man's expensive Bosch stuff said the same thing as this.

Keep the manual handy to guide yourself through the menu. Does more than I've tried to do. It's a cheap OBD2 reader and it works.

Excellent code reader, shows fault codes, o2 sensor voltages, fuel trims, coolant temp plus a whole load more. Also shows real time graph data for various sensors/data. I had been told my engine light was an o2 sensor, turned out to be the vehicle speed sensor in the gearbox. Trying to source a sensor now. At this price is makes sense to buy this unit rather than pay a garage to plug it in. Its simple to use, its plug and play.

Issue with Ford Kuga DPF sensor. Replaced sensor and cancelled fault and got car out of limp mode. Garages charge around £50 just for fault clearing so this is a bargain. Best used for engine codes. It doesn't pick up things like parking sensor issues. Easy to use for what I did.

As of yet I have not used the meter as I don’t have any engine problems to resolve, I purchased this meter in the event they may arise at some point in future as my car is ten years old. I chose this meter as it fits nicely in my hand its easy to read because of it’s screen icons plus it has many options covering the main engine parts. I received it within a few days of placing the order with Amazon, it is as described by the seller Ancel, with a good backup service. The only downside I found was to update the program you have to go on line to the company website and download a zip file to set it up, unfortunately if you don’t have a zip program installed on your computer you will have a problem with the update. This I had to do Ancel, needs to take this on board and inform Customer’s on the instructions booklet. Overall it’s a well designed meter lots of functions and I’m looking forward to use it when the need arises, I highly recommend this Seller Ancel, for service and speed of delivery.
