RIDGID 29963 Model 35S Stainless Steel Tubing Cutter, 1/4-inch to 1-3/8-inch Tube Cutter, Chrome

I wonder in some reviews of cutter tools people are expecting to crank up the handle and just go for it as I'd read many for other tools with some crazy comments. like "great for creating a thread"! Well this one seems to have consistently high praise in its reviews and its well deserved but I do look after my tools and how they are used. I received it, started on a piece of stainless 19mm tube, initially a light touch with light pressure to create a score line, then keep turning and add a little pressure to keep cutting through the score and rotate, as it gets easier , add a little more pressure. Its not rocket science to use a cutter with a pragmatic and simple approach to look after the pipe you are working on and look after the tool you are working with. It cut a lovely straight and clean cut with the expected inner burs to clean up but , nicely engineered tool , does a great job and will last many years if you use it sensibly.

Not Cheap....but then you get exactly what you pay for.....superb tool especially on stainless steel

Product is doing what it’s supposed to do,cuts well and quickly.

I would give it 5 stars because its superb but getting re-supplies (a new cutting wheel) is as expensive as buying another, not to mention hard to find in the uk. I will change to 5 stars if i manage to find where to buy at fair price. Other than that it works great.

Absolutely fantastic tube cutter! I have to cut 100 off 2mm wide slices of 1mm wall 12mm OD silver tube!!! Forget the hand saw, this is amazing! Well worth the money, no wobbly cutting lines, easy to use as long as you don't over tighten, smooth bearings so no nasty marks on the silver tube. Best buy for a long time!

There are few cutters out there capable cutting steel tubes and this will do it like hot knive to butter, clean cut every time. There is the spare cut wheel in the handle and you know these will last a long time and the best part is the actual cutter itself, contructed with solid steel and an absolutely piece of art! Superb quality!

A Rolls-Royce of tubing cutters; beautifully engineered and demolishes the competition. I bought it to cut a few dozen very short lengths (8mm - don't ask :-)) of 9mm OD stainless tubing with a wall thickness of 1mm. Anyone who has used a tube cutter to cut short lengths will know that they tend to skate off sideways if you try to cut very close to the end of the tube and they tend not to like small diameter tubing anyway, but the Ridgid performed perfectly every cut, despite the hard material and the short lengths. One piece of advice for anyone who is not familiar with this style of cutter - whatever make - is, like a saw, let the tool do the work. If you try to cut too quickly, particularly with stainless steel, you will overstress the bearings and the cutter blade. Tighten gently and be patient.
